new gametype: Contested Territory
This is a rough idea I had for a sort of persistent metagame between builders and raiders.
Basically, in addition to the existing outpost system, builders would be able to claim burial sites in "contested territory". Compared to standard outposts, "contested" outposts would be cheaper to claim, have a higher prestige limit, would not deplete over time and would produce more resources from killing raiders, but in exchange for all that, the outpost would only be yours until another player successfully raids it. As soon as that happens, the outpost automatically prestiges and ownership transfers to the raider, who can then upgrade the defenses and activate it until someone else successfully raids it.
Maybe it's a terrible idea but I just wanted to throw it out there.

eh it just doesn't fit very well even though its a nice idea.
people could stockpile these bases too. beating them but never putting them back up. it will also enforce a killbox method of building only. otherwise you would lose your base to the first raider every time it got raided. and who is to say the next builder wont just delete everything and build their own map anyway. or they just make a map thats just a giant maze that no one wants to spend 20min trying to get through.
i dont even know how a persistent meta game could be in this game that would function. its like asking for PvP where everyone is only 1 hp. as much as i like the idea of PvP it just wouldn't really work well unless they did some major changes.
