August 15th 2023 update crashes on Steam Deck at start-up

I play on Steam Deck, but cannot play MyM since yesterday's update, the following error message appears at start-up:

Assertion failed!

Any Steam Deck setting that can be used to work around this issue?

    See the exact error myself. I couldn't figure out how to get around it. I tried different proton settings but no luck. Hopefully BHVR releases a fix or instructions to work around this issue.
