The New Pulverizer Death Piston + Holocube Pitfall Trap Is Amazing
It's not a cheap combo to pull off. 50 for Death Piston, 15 for pulverizer mod, 10 for holocube, and 5 for picture perfect mod. All in it's 80 capacity for the combo and it's worth every bit of it. The great part about it, is you only need to go 1 tile deep which makes it far easier to place. If you step on it, there is virtually no time to react so you need to be super careful where you step now. Super deadly and easy to use trap. Highly recommend.

I used it too but to be honest I don't think it was intended that way, because it is instant death once you step into it, which differentiates it from all other traps we have in our disposal.

Intended or not, I don't think it's problematic. Raiders just need to watch where they stand. If it is unpainted bedrock that isn't obviously the harvester trail then be wary.

I don't understand what you mean. Pistons break holocubes, so wouldn't it have to be 2 deep?

Nope. If you put the piston inside the holocube, it doesn't activate until the holocube is broken by other means (usually being stepped on by a raider). Once the holocube is broken, the piston activates and with the pulverizer mod, it immediately goes up giving the raider like a nanosecond to respond before dying. Give it a try.

then don't step into it. as soon as you hear that holo break, jump or shield.

Imma be honest, idk who has that kinda reaction time. That piston triggers instantly.

The time window is small, but it can be done. i've done it. thats why i suggested it. i've actually grown blind to the red warning markers as i operate on audio most of the time. i react to the sound of a trap going off (which gets me killed to pistons around corners ALL time time) but the "SHING" of a holo cube breaking is enough warning to block the piston or jump if i'm confident i can jump.
