Only have two grenades in co-op

I've been playing co-op with a friend. He hosts. My HUD says I have 3 grenades, but after I throw the 2nd grenade it will then show 0. I've tried switching out hardware in the slots to see if that'd fix it, but it didn't. I always only have 2 grenades in co-op. (My friend who's hosting has his full 3 grenades.)

I checked in single-player mode, and I do have 3 grenades in single player.
