A Different Concept for Legion

Legion is an awesome killer with awesome cosmetics, but their power doesn't really do much. They would probably benefit more from having two powers instead of just one main one, kind of like Ghostface, Pig, Freddy, Demogorgon, and the Oni... and it would be very interesting if this secondary power allowed Legion to play like how they were portrayed in the Darkness Among Us trailer. So hear me out for a second:

Pressing ALT would activate a power (which I call "Conform" because it sounds very cool), causing a visual smoke effect similar to Ghostface's Night Shroud upon activation. While using the power, Legion loses their terror radius and red stain and adopts all the animations of survivors like walking, running, pointing, crouching, motioning to "come here", etc (this would be even cooler if Legion's mask dissipated, but that's probably too ambitious to even fantasize about). They would also move at the same speed as a survivor but would be unable to interrupt actions or interact with anything around them. But they could still be stunned and stunning would force them out of Conform (this power that I've come up with).

If Legion gets close enough to a survivor while in Conform, then the option to attack with M1 appears. Attacking like this would instantly end the Conform power and the survivor would be instantly downed, but Legion needs to be VERY close, practically already touching the survivor, in order for this to work. To avoid being downed, a survivor can simply run away since Legion in Conform runs at the same speed and would be unable to properly catch up without switching out of their power. Pressing ALT again exits the ability and a shortened version of the Feral Frenzy exhaustion animation would play. (Ending Conform is also where the mask would reappear if the mask vanishing and reappearing effect could ever be implemented).

Conform would NOT be used to trick survivors into thinking you're one of them (and this wouldn't work anyway with SWF groups). It would only make Legion harder to spot at a distance and give them decent jump scare or mind-gaming potential since they wouldn't have a terror radius or red stain. Plus their attacks would be able to snowball from being stealthy ambushes to running around the map and smacking everyone.

After exiting Conform, Legion would play as a basic M1 killer until they use Feral Frenzy. There are a lot of ways to change how Feral Frenzy operates, but for now I just wanted to introduce a different idea for Legion. And it's not too far fetched since the Legion does, in fact, look like a bunch of survivors and the chapter is called Darkness Among Us, hinting that there is a killer among survivors.

Anyway, this is just a neat little concept of making Legion into a more interesting killer with different ways to be played (like playing stealthy, aggressive, or pretending to be friendly only to stab people in the back). And of course, this wouldn't make Legion top-tier, it's just a fun little idea that might give this poor killer better downing potential... or at least add something new and entertaining. And if not, it's at least cool to imagine, especially since this is pretty much how Legion was portrayed in the trailer. Thoughts?

EDIT: Fixed grammar and took out a couple sentences

-The Legion has two abilities. Frenzy and DW. I know, that people often referring to just 1 ability, but they are 2. The one hurts the Legion and the other Survivors (pun intended).

-Your concept sounds cool, but I think the shape-shifting ability should be part of a completely new killer. Also the Legion got always advertised on 2 ways.

In the short trailer, you see Frank running, shape-shifting and then stabbing David.

In the long trailer however, you see nothing anymore from the "shape-shifting".

I am pretty sure that one day a shape-shifting killer comes to dbd, because there are just too many shape-shifting killers in movies, but the Legion fullifies more the frenzy-stabbing archtype, as a shape-shifting killer archtype.

... But that is just my opinion...

Don't feel bad because of my posting. I know that many people would like to see a shape-shifter in dbd. I just don't see why the Legion should do the job.

Edit: So even if maybe the Legion never will be a shape-shifter (we can't know it), your idea will maybe sooner or later found in a other killer.

I wouldn't consider Legion to be a fully fledged shape-shifter since their appearance would basically remain the same, but I see your point. If this idea was ever used, it would probably be on something completely new... and that would be awesome!

There are a lot of other reworks Legion could get to make them better and I thought I'd throw in a crazy idea, just to see if it inspires anything else. Maybe get people thinking of all the fun ways Legion can be improved. Even if it's not this concept, any changes to make Legion a better killer would be happily accepted by me!

Yes, just, Yes. I love the idea that paranoia will spread among survivors kinda like "The Thing", plus it allows for a totally unique killer. Great concept!
