You all did this to me and I'm very sad. (It's about the rift) (Feel guilty)
So, when I completed every single challenge in Tome I and was at tier 64 in the rift. I don't think people understand how ungodly the amount of time this is going to take me to complete. Let me tell you why this is YOUR FAULT.
All you little crybabies out here wanted the rift challenges to be easier. Smh smh. What the FLIP guys. I'd rather have to grind back then. Now I've gotta grind NOW! At least it wouldn't have hit me like a ton of bricks.
Using my insane mathematical calculatory calculations, we've got the numbers. For me. Here they are:
800 xp per fragment.
10 fragments per tier
8,000 xp per tier
6 tiers remaining
48,000 xp needed
Approx 600 xp in 10-minute game
80 optimal games needed
800 minutes/13.3 (repeating, of course) hours needed
Now, this is all assuming I'm playing OPTIMALLY and PLAYING FOR A PERFECT 10-minutes. Any longer and the xp gain from time is diminished. This is NOT accounting for matchmaking or menu or loading times. Ain't nobody got time for that! This'll be at least LEAST AGAIN AT LEAST 20 hours. That's unless I play perfect every game and complete optimality. And don't enjoy the game. And don't have fun.
Now this can all be changed if I quit my job and become a streamer... Wait that's a great idea!
Edit: My post was touched unprovoked and unconsensually.

Actually a lot of people forget about this but you get an extra 600 exp for playing your first killer and survivor match of the day. Let's say that we have 10 days remaining you get 6000 exp from these bonuses. That leaves you with 42000 exp remaining.
That leaves you with 70 optimal games, 700 mins or 11 hrs 40 mins of game time.

The amount of grinding you have to do on top of the rift challenges hasn’t changed since the “whining,” this is a really weird argument using two totally unrelated things.

You have lessened the pain. Thank you.

This post is just bait for a Twitch channel?

Honestly I'm at tier 66(almost 67) and I still have plenty of the tier 4 challenges to do. I should get about 3 tiers by the time I finish, so I don't see the problem. That said, the only thing I complained about was the fact that some of the challenges were next to impossible for the conditions to even present themselves(unhook 2 survivors during EGC).

I know what you mean. I was disappointed with the changes for the same reasons. Same with the changes made to level IV - they made half of them normal challenges instead of master, but they didn't increase the number of challenges, so we lost several tiers' worth of progress due to people complaining that intentionally difficult things were difficult.

I don't think the daily survivor and killer bonuses effect anything, but your player level Experience though.

Spend 5$, get 500 cells, buy 5 tiers, easy.

I just did the easy thing and set a pace of 20 levels per tome. Majority of my tiers finished were from doing my tomes to 100%. I was part way through 60 when tome 4 dropped.
Biggest issue is people didn't seem to set a mile stone they thought was reasonable to succeed at the Rift challenge. I didn't spend a single dollar outside buying the premium rift. My friend bought the last 5 levels from the rift return of Auric Cells so he could go play additional games.

just wanted to tell you, you aren't the only person in the world playing this game. I know people that are still strugling to complete the rift. Take it easy.

personally, i stopped focusing on the challenges and simply have them as a side objective. i mostly focus on playtime to gain shards, and it actually feels a lot better since you're gradually earning as you play. it becomes a subconscious thing in the long run, and before you know it, you make it to the end of the rift! i got to tier 60 this way :0

I think they do. I do remember times when I gained a full level up due to getting the daily exp. Plus it's still exp why wouldn't it affect the rift?

@Go_Go_Roboto I've edited your post - please don't advertise on our forum in this manner!

Same, I only really wanted the EGC saves and the 25 unhooks challenges changed, the latter because it was the first challenge thereby making everyone compete for limited saves. I do wish I still had some challenges left so I have some objectives left to do.
I do look forward to seeing what challenges they come up with in the next time though.

:( Now I'm going to starve thanks to you. Just quit my job.

I mean it's specifically towards the player level, but you could be right. I never noticed any difference between when I played with it or without it. You may also be getting experince from just playing optimally. I guess long story short we wont know unless a Dev tells us otherwise.
Also the dailies Grant's 300 bonus xps so provided you get the base 800 XP plus the 300 XP you would get 1100 XP. You would level up regardless by one shard since 800 XP per shard.
Would you mind clarifying this for us since you happen to be here?

I made it through the entire Rift halfway through Tome 3. Not sure if I just play too much, but it really wasn't that hard. But I also started on the 7th level of the Rift when it began after the bonus they gave people for playing the week before or whatever.
Good luck to everybody! Sorry you are having a tough time.

I agree with you about those two challenges, although I think the latter issue could be solved by just making multiple entrances to the web.
As much as I enjoy difficult challenges, I wouldn't mind easier ones as long as there are a lot more of them. I'm hoping that's what they'll do differently next time, so that we can still get sufficient Rift progress by competing all challenges (which is how the Rift was planned this time, and those plans were thrown off-balance when they decided to make the challenges easier).

They really need to decrease the amount required per fragment next time around. The estimate of "70 hours" has been a complete failure, as it's easily within the hundreds of hours with all challenges completed already.
Like, for instance, when the bar actually fills up at 600XP instead of needing an extra 200 on top of that.
With no downtime between these passes it's going to be a really short amount of time before people just give up due to burnout.
And no, buying levels is not acceptable. $5 for 5/70 levels in a pass that costs (and refunds) $10 total is a ridiculous amount. 25 cells per level would be something more resembling "reasonable."
