Why do Killer powers need server confirmation?
An honest question to the devs, mods, or anyone that can reason it.
Why do Killer powers need server confirmation?
Ever since DbD went from p2p to servers all Killers have had their powers act oddly or simply break due to needing server confirmation. Billy has it harder to flutter his chainsaw. Demo and Nurse can often under charge shred. Shape and Ghostface can fail to stalk when in front of someone. Clown's bottles are jank to toss. Freddy has odd delays to snares. Every Killer is effected by the server confirmation adding a delay to using their powers and even Deathslinger as well suffers from it.
Why? Why not have that client side to avoid ALL of those problems and bugs?

Latency mate, when you press a button it has to travel to the servers and back to display on your tv/ monitor. Same principle with survivors when they vault a window and still get hit. It’s not a simple solution, so it will take time

Just give it a bit, Rome was not build in a day, they are still working on improving all of that.

It really is (should) be a simple thing having Killer powers being client side. There's just no reason making them server side. It has caused several problems one after another.
Just, WHY?
The only reason I can think is to sync the visuals of Killer actions to Survivors. Giving Survivors a chance to react to a fast chainsaw, pre charging a hatched round some corner, Nurse blinks in general, ect. Survivors need to have the ability to react to a Killer. That is the ONLY reason to have this! And it just isnt working, it has in fact done harm to gameplay.
Killer attacks are client side, but Killer powers are server side. Its asinine! Why have one client and the other server? What is the reason behind it? More so.
Why the hell didnt the devs simply increase the charge time of Killer powerss by 60-100ms instead? It does the exact same thing by giving Survivors time to react, but prevents any and likely all of the problems the server confirmations caused. Not only that. But it wouldn't have ######### the skill of building muscle memory by having Killer power timings be a constant instead of a variable.

Short answer, devs don't know how to code for dedicated servers.

Yeah, its really annoying that I need to charge my blink 2 times my ping longer (because both charge, and release are delayed), to get the same results as before on peer-to-peer. This also causes the odd short post-blink-lunges, because the server thinks says I am still in my blink, while on my screen, I am already building up momentum.

Hag gets it worse in teleportation if you ask me.
Having seen it myself, dont play Hag, but iv read and watched Hag players teleport to a trap only to revert back for a frame or 2 then end up at said trap.
Cant lunge, cant instant hit, and if your ping is 100+ to the server it ruins any momentum you build slowing a 110% Killer even more.
I can give an example for every single Killer in the game where servers have janked their powers. Some are minor, but EVERY Killer is negatively effected by having their powers server side. And another topic here shows just how Deathslinger is harmed as well.
His spear spawns off center screen and delayed thanks to server confirmation. A Killer that needs pin point accuracy to land hits, and his weapon is delayed plus has near RNG to it.
Iv said this too damn many times, but. Why?
