The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

these changes only encourage genrushing. you think that's healthy for the game??

why don't people see it? removing most pallets and making windows super unsafe only leaves one choice for survivors: rush gens before the killer can catch everyone. it will be the only way to win this game. sorry but how are you guys so dumb you can't see it?? do you really want this game to become a M1 simulator? if all maps are gonna be like shelter woods then that's going to happen. have fun genrushing and killrushing i don't see this game as fun and playable after this patch.

please someone tell me this game isn't ruined because i am really scared it is.

    I agree 100%

But we know devs will go and apply these changes no matter what, specially when maps changes take a lot of effort.

They should just removed infinites, and made some maps smaller, but oh well..

Fenrush might become meta? I'm pretty sure it always has been.

It’s for the better health of the game. If you can’t survive long enough without infinite’s and exxxtra long loops, then there’s a problem with the way you’re playing survivor.

But removing pallets and making windows unsafe allows you to end chases quicker because you'll catch up to them faster.

Once you have a hook, you get the momentum going. The person on the hook can't do a gen, there'll most likely be a second person getting off a gen to go for the save, leaving two people to do gens, as to which they could be doing stuff for their challenges, cleansing totems or just running about anyways.

Obviously if they're in a SWF they'll be a lot more optimal, most likely remembering they have a relatively large chunk of time before the hooked person hits the struggle stage, however if you have BBQ, you may be able to see what the other survivors are doing if they're far enough away from the hook, if you see them on a gen, head over to the gen to attempt to stop it, if it gets complete then you'll still be able to maintain momentum by finding them and injuring them, if it doesn't then you can kick the gen and potentially regress it by 25% if you're running PGTW.

seems like somebody felt in love with ironworks' god window.

it's ok, there are many god window in the entity realm, or not?

Since the genrush coulnt get any worse, there is no problem in that respect.

However, with potential shorter chases, camping becomes more unattracitve for killers.

I know i camp as a killer vs survivors i am lucky to catch once. If i know i can catch them again, i dont have to camp.

I think it's the opposite effect. Right now, the first chases can be so awefully long bc of pallet heavens and strong loops, that weaker killers can easily loose 2 to 3 gens in trade for first hook. If the chases become shorter because pallets are removed and loops get unsafer, the remaining survs do not have so much time, need to help the hooked and thus increase the overall interaction between killer and survs. Which means fewer time to "gen rush".

If the change is to drastic and killers might now over perform i don't know. But I don't think so. If the survs are good enough, they can still loop a killer for some time withouth using many pallets or abusing god loops. Bad loopers are more screwed then. I had a game (on blood lodge) were I threw the game voluntarily just to see how far a survivor gets that's wasting each and every pallet he could reach instantly. He could run me for all five gens. Of course I did not chase optimaly, but destroyed every pallet on the spot. But i still think that should NEVER be possible, for a bad looper to stall the killer just bc pallets are so near to each other and so numerous.

Good players will always stick to the objective. These changes are going to help high rank killers dealing with sweaty SWFs

We have a lack of killers at the moment which causes long wait times in a queue. Why? Because people are too afraid to play the killer role because of the heavy work load.

They needed to make these changes to make the killer role more attractive because no killers = no game.

Even if people try to do a gen rush, the killer should be capturing people faster now which puts pressure on team mates to leave gens, unhook and heal.

I just want more people playing killer and this is a change which helps that

no. you don't seem to realize they're reducing pallets in most maps. so every map will be much like shelter woods where you can't do anything in a chase whenever the shack pallet is gone. can't do anything but to run in a straight line or spin around trees and hope for the best

Personally i will wait till this changes hit live version of game, more people would be play normaly and we will be able to see if changes was to hard or good, if kkillers came out to strong after this changes, there will get a proper nerf or the devs will add a bit more loops

That's extremely smart. Nerf the length of chases, so people resort to only gen rushing. Hmm, it makes me think, couldn't they do the same thing anyways? This is an indirect buff to spirit.

Killers needed something. Funny how blatantly survivor sided this game was till they started knocking out these loops.

How dramatic people get over a 5% penalty on team repairs and actually fixing broken mechanics.

I believe people are overreacting too much, similar to what happened with the Ruin changes. Yes there will be less pallets on some maps, but it's not like there weren't already maps in the game with a similar amount of pallets. Now personally, I didn't exactly count the amount of pallets on the new maps, but it looked reasonable enough.

Besides... You're talking about incentives here for the survivors to do gens, but it's not like they don't already want to finish them now... Yes they have an extra incentive now to do them faster, but I mean it's their main objective so I'm not sure what else survivors could be doing instead. What I'm saying is that the endresult is still the same: they will sit on gens if these changes go live but they already ARE sitting on gens right now, because they simply got nothing else to do and also want to escape.

I don't think that the extra incentive for survivors to complete gens isn't going to change the gameplay too much, but hey I could be wrong.

I see killers putting people down at high rank play you just need to up your game a little bit. It’s kind of irritating people still complain about gen speed. I’ve seen red rank killers put people down quite efficiently actually. Plenty of gen slowing perks. Ez. Make sure you trade hooks by tunneling rescuers. Make everyone bleed for thanat in the process. Slug. Ez.

Encourage Gen Rushing? Gen Rushing is already a problem and any changes could not make it any worse because of how bad it is. Making maps shorter and taking out god loops may encourage gen rushing, but the killer atleast now has a fighting chance.

Tbh nobody wants to come in and stare at a generators repair progress bar any longer than it already is to give killer a comfortable amount of time to get his downs and Mori’s

Genrushig is already the meta, it's just about giving killer a chance to get a down before 1 or 2 gens stop. There's still many pallets and loops to waste killers time, you just have to stop relying on infinites or god loops.

You can notice when you have a good team, and i can assure you, as a solo survivor, when that happens i feel safe and in coutrol and there's not a lot of things the killer can do to stop us from escaping.

The problem is, and has been for a while, having team mates that have gen phobia and just save rush the second you go down.

But you know, you can always call people dumb because your precious infinites are getting looked at. It says more about you than it says about us

How do you know this, have you played the PTB? From what I saw, the jungle gyms, pallets, and harvesters are all closer to one another. This means that survivors have less dead zones to run into, which kind of is a passive buff for them. Not all of the "god loops" have been nerfed, some of the fixed loops are more or less just as powerful if you know how to run them. Gen speed will probably be just as ridiculously fast as before if you have an optimal team, this update will give killers a chance to apply more map pressure.

Okay so the problem is blood lust wasn't removed meaning and line of sight isn't broken as easily anymore. All days yesterday streamers DC'd left and right because thr second a killer hit bloodlust there was nothing they could do. And then they got tunneled off the hook because this is the meta. Tunnel one person out of the game and then "play normally" at least according to some big name streamers to "counter Gen rushing"
