Let's talk about Legion a bit.
Ok first of all : I am a "Legion Main", as I love Legion's style and gameplay, mostly play them when I play Killer. I play both sides as well, and I have less than 300 hours in the game (around 260 ? idk). I consider myself as a very fair player, i try to makes everyone have fun (when i do bad as killer, i'm not sad cause i didn't kill anyone, but cause they may have no fun at all playing against me, just being bored). I'm very dumb, so i may be mistaken sometimes. Also, English is not my main language so i may also makes mistakes with all of this writting.
Disclaimer : I know Legion are a group of teens, and there are girls and boys, so we must talk about THEY, not aout he or she. I really don't like the she-Legion, i only play he-Legion, so sometimes i may make a mistake and say "he" instead of "they".
Legion's power is simple. When you activate it, you enter a Frenzy. When in Frenzy, you move WAAAAY faster and you can vault pallets and windows like survivors do. When you hit a survivor he is in deep wound status effect, you replenish your power gauge and you can see all the survivors in your terror radius. So, how do you wanna play him ? You want to stab someone, then stab someone else, until everyone has been stabbed, to keep everyone injured, then down them quick and easy.
Okay, now everything has been established, what are his strengths and weaknesses ? They almost has a way too injure instantly someone, they can have lots of informations of where survivors are and what they're up to, they can travel quite fast thanks to his power, they has kind of passive game slowdown trhough mending/healing, and they're small. But he has nothing to help in chases, nothing to help applying pressure, their cooldowns are kinda long, and uh, i think that's all.
In my own opinion, Feral Frenzy resume the character. In the lobbies, Frank is ready to jump at the face of the survivor, and stab them, killing them without any mercy. Also, Legion's Mori show how they're weaker than any other killers (props to the Pig, also). They struggle to kill his prey, being pushed back by the survivor, but their will allow them to kill them finally. I mean, Myers catch the survivor and stick his knife into them until they're dead. Legion try to hit them, but miss, then i try to stab them, he's pushed back, then they finally get their prey back at them, and they kill them straight away. Legion is a survivor with a knife. That's why he can vault pallets and windows like them. Legion is designed as a super-agressive killer. But, in fact, he is a defensive killer with very high slowdown potential. And i'm kinda sad, cause he can't down anyone with his power, and the fact they have to mend is nothing but a waste of time for them, not a threat at all.
And, i HAVE to say that Legion is just a worse Plague. I mean, what's Legion's Power ? Injure everyone. What's Plague Power ? INJURE EVERYONE :D. Plague has less mobility, and has less slowdown potential cause of the mending. BUT, she can have everyone injured WAAAAY easier (so she's more deadly) and she has the ability to hit from afar if survivors cleanse. I mean, what's the point in slowing the game down with Legion's mending if you can just have a ton of map pressure with the Plague downing everyone ? Uh ?
I know Legion had a rework a while ago, and some other killers needs one too (like Bubba), but i'd LOVE seeing them being reworked again. So here, i will be just explaining what i'd change, but nothing is intended to be changed the way i want, cause if it's not already like this, there is a reason.
- Deep Wound : This status effect is just annoying. As a survivor, you have to waste 10 secs of doing nothing but self-caring, and while you're affected by deep wound, you can't see a thing cause of the blood on your screen and stuff. And as a killer, you just don't feel like "oh, he's in deep wound yes i will down him or something", no, when a survivor is in deep wound, you just know they'll waste very little time mending themselves. To change that, i'd make it so mending self would be VERY LONG, but being mend would be MUCH shorter. So, it encourage people to be altruistic, there would be more survivors together, and survivors together = Legion getting Frenzy Hits.
- Frenzy's gauge : First of all, hitting a survivor with a normal attack empty your power's gauge by half. Why ? Maybe the devs didn't wanted Legion to hit a survivor, then enter Frenzy to hit him again ? What's the point ? Not to gain STBFL stacks ? You can't even, cause he has the sprint whil you have the after-hit animation.. Cause if you make the mistake of hitting someone BEFORE realising there's 3 others right here, you just punished yourself and you'll get only 1 or maybe 2 hits in the end. Also, missing an attack fully empty your gauge. I'd make it so it empty only the half, for you to have a second chance. Anyway, it would only get you a second chance from the first hit, cause if you run a bit, then miss a survivor, you most likely end your power here cause of duration. Also, i think it can be a good idea to replenish your power gauge by hitting a survvior with Deep wound. BUT it would also fully replenish the deep wound countdown but not the progress of mending. So Legion can use any survivor to replenish their power, while not being a tunneling killer like the old one, and then can maybe get more second chances/consistant chain hits.
- Frenzy's duration/cooldowns : I feel like Frenzy is short, and the cooldown is much too long. You can't use Killer Instinct to chase a survivor who is like, 10 meters away, cause Legion can't catch up to them fast enough, and they'll most likely run away and you'll end up being in the middle of nowhere, with no power and an deep injured survivor like, somewhere over there but he would've most likely ran away too before mending, cause the timer don't go down if running. So, i'd like to have a longer duration or a quicker sprint, because you can't consistantly get chains hit. I know in his latest buff their movement speed has been buffed to the old one, but i feel like it's not enough. And the cooldown to end frenzy is just painful. I mean, it's fair cause if you had no cooldown you could just hit a survivor, catch up to them, end your power and down them. Same problem : Tunneling. I'd reward chain hits by adding a shorter cooldown for each hit you got (like, 4s for the base cooldown, and 0.2 less seconds for each hits you got, that seems fair to me ?). I think, rewarding skilled Legions would be a better thing.
- Vaulting : After vaulting a pallet, Legion's hitbox is kinda weird. I really struggle to get a hit on a survivor i vaulted the pallet right after, maybe cause i'm bad. I don't know what really is the issue with this, but maybe, doing something for it, like, to body-block the pallet in a more efficient way ? Also, i think it could be a thing to add a fast vault and a medium vault for Legion, to encourage getting the correct angle. I'm also not very sure of anything with that, cause Legion's vaulting is good. I just think body-blocking a pallet/window after vaulting it is kinda inconsistent.
- Adons, in general : Legion is not like Wraith, or Trapper, very adons-relying. BUT their adons are important. There is no way to change their gameplay trough adons (unlike Freddy's Pallets/Snares or Doctor's afflictions), they can only slightly improve their power. Recovery adons are weak, even mixed up together, but it would not be fair to increase their power, cause if they're together they could be too powerful. But, i'd make it so that there is a shorter cooldown (maybe 1 whole sec for the dust) BUT with a downside (maybe they mend quicker ? Cause if it's less duration, it would encourage tunneling). Duration adons are arguably the best Legion adons cause, you know... Frenzy duration, chain hits... Recovery adons are okay, they're not to change i guess ? Also, Legion's pink mixtape is kinda meh. I mean, it can be helpful to know where to land your Pop, or to know what you must do know. The Wraith has the same adon. The slight difference between the Wraith and Legion is, you know, that the Wraith i almost clocked everytime. Legion is in Frenzy like, not so long, not so often.
- Pins : I love pins. They're my favorite Legion adons. I know they're kinda bad, but i love them. I mean, Blinding is bad but annoying, Mangled is cool cause of slowdown, and Broken cause it place the survivor in a dangerous spot. Pins reward chain hits, by, you know, applying debuffs to survivors revealed by killer instinct (not the first, so). I think Behaviour made it like this because it would be too easy to enter frenzy, get a garanteed hit, apply the debuff, end frenzy, chase the debuffed survivor. I agree with that. BUT, to buff them, i would make it so it REALLY rewards chain hits. So, the first hit doesn't apply the debuff, the 2nd apply it for 30s, the 3rd for 60s, 4th for 90s and so on. Like this, survivors has to prevent Legions from getting long chains hits if they don't want to be debuffed for such a long amount of time. (By the way the debuff would be overwritten so you can hit a survivor, apply broken for 30 secs, then hit him again after he mends and apply it for 120 more seconds. It would be OP). Also, i would move the effect from the Pink Pin to the Pink Mixtape (so delete the Mixtape's effect) and replace the Pink Pins' power by a thing that reward chain hits, again. So, first hit doesn't apply anything, 2nd blindness, 3rd blindness+mangled, 4th blindness+mangled+exhausted, 5th blindness+mangled+exhausted+exposed, or that kind of things. I think that would be pretty balanced considering chains hits are hard to obtain, and can be avoided by survivors. But, if chains hit are dangerous, survivor will avoid being together, and will waste time self-caring.
Now, i think i've made a pretty good job so far, suggesting things. I know all the things i suggested were all about chain hits somehow, but i think this is the most important part of Legion build. Everyone who had read this entire thing, thank you. Everyone, please let me know what do you think, maybe it's relevant, maybe not, if it's too OP or just perfectly balanced. If Behaviour devs are passing by, please let me know what you're thinking about all this, and let me know your opinion too. Thank you for reading, Chaos, over.
