Billy or How To Make A Strong Killer That's FUN

If you ask the majority of the community who the best killers in the game are, they usually answer the same thing: Nurse, Spirit, Freddy... and Billy. All of them extremely unfun to play against as survivor, except Billy. If you were to ask who the most fun killers to go against are, Billy comes up again almost on top.

So I asked myself, why? What makes Billy one of the best killers in the game AND fun and fair? And why are the other top killers so despised (and with good reason imo)

And I think the answer, is the simplicity of Billy's power. Farm boy revs up his chainsaw and zooms across the map and instadowns you if he touches you. Strong, really strong, but also very simple. This allows for both Billy and the survivors the ability to mind game each other, and whoever wins the chase, it almost always seems like it's the fairest outcome.

Let's talk Freddy for a second. His power is literally longer than an university level essay. He lives in another dimension and survivors go to it after a while or after getting hit and no terror radius and the fake pallets or blood traps and the buggy lunge animation and the teleporting to gens and having to wake up or failing skill checks and bla bla bla. It's SO overwhelming, he can do SO many things, and a lot of it requires very little skill from the killer. I don't know a single person that sees the clocks in the bottom left when the game starts and doesn't go "Ugh"

Spirit? Her power is very simple, yes, but also extremely busted. Anyone with a headset and that has played for a 100 hours can easily jump on Spirit and win almost every game. She's a whole different topic I believe, and to me, she is the strongest killer even outranking Nurse.

Pyramid Head came out. Now, I believe he isn't as strong as some people make him to be, but again, the COMPLEXITY of his kit is so over the top, it almost seems like the devs had 10 different ideas for killers and just combined them into one.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that more isn't always better. Complex isn't always fun. I really hope BHVR understands that some of their best and fun killers, aren't the ones with flashy mechanics, but the ones with straight forward Powers that are simple and fun to play with, and to play against.

Billy is definitely one of the most fun killers for both sides, Shame the devs messed him up recently.
