Absolutely Horrendous Matchmaking

I've started playing this game more frequently recently and I've noticed how god awful the matchmaking really is. I play a rank 12 killer, but whenever I play, almost every game has at least 2-3 red rank players and a really low (rank 20-16) player. I just had a match against two rank 2s, a rank 1, and a rank 8. Of course, I got absolutely demolished. How is this fair matchmaking? How are killers supposed to get past rank 10 if they always go against the best players? My killer should not have to be astronomically better than the survivors to at least secure a kill. Please fix this horrible matchmaking.
