I'm Calling Behavior Out
I'll make this quick. We have killers from multiple different eras, but why aren't the survivors the same way? Every survivor is from the modern age and I for one am offended. Come on, Behavior. Fix your game. Literally unplayable.
P.S. I love you, Behavior Devs.

Its unplayable because the survivors are ,,too modern"?

Yes completely unplayable. I want a butler from Victorian London as a survivor

A Neanderthal pls, oh wait..
Nea already exists

That... Actually sounds cool.

Yes. The Entity can take people from throughout time. Why do we have only modern survivors? It's fishy. And I don't see a mermaid.
2 -
They have some old timey cosmetics but yeah, totally unplayable until we get an old timey Survivor with old timey lore dammit!

So aside the fact that every survivor somehow knows how to work on generators, how are those from the past supposed to know?
2 -
I've said it before, I would love a Samurai Jack situation where some guy from olden times gets dropped into DBD.
1 -
They learn just as everyone else has done. Not even half of the survivors know how to legitimately fix a generator when they first arrived nor should they know what they have to do to escape in the first place.
3 -
These modern survivors are the ones who did not know how to pick a dropped pallet back up until yui came in. I don't think realism is a concern here.

Neas aren't extinct doe ..... Yet

If any Survivor has a face which resembles a Neanderthal, it is Meg. There is a reason why the most popular cosmetic is the Deathgarden Mask.

well 2 or 3 are from the 80s.

Where's my early settlers, tho?

You ignore skins.. but true.

I want a survivor from the future. Cyberpunk clothing and dyed hair tips. single lens wraparound sunglasses, FLuroescant thriller style jacket with short sleeves. The works
2 -
I’d love to see survivors from earlier eras, with clothes reminiscent of the time. That would be so cool.

Neanderthal gets hit by killer once.
Neanderthal "Pain bad"
Neanderthal sees other survivors repair generator and escape.
Neanderthal "Me leave, too."
Learning has taken place. More learning to come.

This. Me like this.

Good question. Survivors must have more or less ~recent education~. Also, to note, cthe first commercial engine was invented in 1870. Thats less than 200 yrs...

Remember the time when we repaired Entity's plants? :D Maybe survivors dont repair, they cast a magic.. yes. We can add some mages. :^)

Given enough time (Which is basically infinite in this realm) anyone can learn something presented to them. Trial and error is a huge part of life, learning and creating the best cinnamon buns known to man. I'm pretty sure the Entity doesn't interview anyone to see if they know how to repair damaged wiring and machine parts before casting them into an eternity of engineering school hell where the teacher hangs you up on a hook as an example for exploding the generators.

I always thought Meg had a strange 'picture of a pigs face with the aspect ratio stretched upwards' look. Honesltly its the only survivor face that bothers me at all.

Our evolution took pretty long, but I agree. :D

I want a fat Survivor, or a Grandma Survivor, most of them are young and fit, it's becoming too repetetive tbh.

There's Quentin too 🤔

I say one name
JANE

Actually some people seem to not know, that Neanderthals and early Humans in general where extremly smart. Across all ages in general, people were smarter than modern people now give them credit for. They just werent advanced in science, technology and stuff and in many cases progress in these areas werent necessary for them. They even had bigger brains than modern humans have.

IIRC the only reason there was never a Neanderthal civilization is because humans reproduced more quickly.
They were probably stronger and had larger brains, with shorter and sturdier frames. Our biological superiors and equally as capable of creating tools and engaging in complex social customs as early humans.

As for repairing generator, does anyone here really think any given teenager knows how to repair gens just because they live in the 20th/21st century?
However, Quentin, Laurie, Nea, Meg, and Heather seem to be doing just fine.
The Entity's Realm isn't a physical place. It's an abstraction created and controlled by the Entity to house the consciousnesses\souls of the Survivors and Killers.
That's why Survivors can't fight back, why they can't just boost each other over the walls, and why they can't talk. They're more or less in a nightmare they can't wake up from.
To that effect I see no reason why someone from 500 A.D couldn't be a Survivor and be able to fix a generator.
