If you're in first hook, I'm running to you, you attempt to yeet trying to steal my unhook points, I'll just wait till you reach second stage.
I did this to a Dwight, and he decided to sabotage the game and help killer find me.
Sandbag, clicking flashlight in my direction, and the killer took his side without any knowledge.
Next time I see someone try to yeet when they see me coming for save, I'm just going to turn around and leave you on hook.

I've gotten myself killed because some selfish ass tried and failed to unhook themselves from the hook (I was crouching to them walking through Hag traps and he decides to try to jump off the hook, forcing me to trigger a trap to get him down before he went to 2nd stage).
So yeah, I have zero sympathy anymore after that. I won't just leave you to die (probably) but if you end up in the 2nd stage because of your own stupidity, so be it.

Just butt dance in front of them until second stage or the killer comes by. If they want the achievement they should just run slippery meat or deliverance. Probably throwing the game but at least you had a good laugh, which is always fun!

Why can't you just let people have fun?
Why does it matter whether they pull off in front of you or not, it's fun to chance the 4% especially if you're going to get saved, it's not the end of the world, the person will still need healing and it's incredibly rare they'll even pull off anyway.

Trying to steal the hook save, even if unsuccessful, is a blatant statement that you aren't a team player.

Let them have their fun? Well after watching you unsuccessfully try to save yourself, I have more fun in watching you enter struggle as punishment for your bad decision.

Its spiteful towards your own teammates?
They went out of their way to help you but you deny them their reward for no reason.
Also a personal story I have flatout have had teammates die doing this not because of them failing but they succeded denying my "We'll Make It" Then dying to the death slinger/Pyramid head because I couldn't heal them in time due to having my double healing speed being denied by my own teammates.

I find it to be annoying but I still unhook unless they've filled up my petty meter. As long as they're playing the game normally, it's whatever.
If they're a Claudette that's urban-ing around, self-caring in a corner and led the killer to me multiple times while I had a gen almost done. Yeah, if you try to coby when I'm about to rescue you, you're going to 2nd state.
If you also try to coby and put yourself in 2nd state when I'm about to get you, you're just getting left and someone else will have to get you. That crap is beyond stupid and they deserve to stay on the hook.

First of all, how is trying to kobe toxic? I guarantee you the person behind the screen attempting to yeet his character Jake off the hook not putting him into second stage, but only speeding up the sacrificial stage faster is not trying to be "toxic". Besides, you will be right there to save him, or not since you seem to despise the 4% hook yeet.
And second, being toxic to someone doesn't solve toxicity, it only makes it worse. In a situation like this, the certain individual who lets the person go into the second stage is the toxic person. Why? Because the person is screwing their whole team by letting the killer get more value out of one hook. The person on the hook is innocent if you just sit there and watch them go into second stage. I would be willing to bet that they will just kill themselves on purpose quickly even if you save them afterwards.
"Their actions deserve consequences" Wow, do you mind explaining this one? Not sure how trying to kobe harms anyone. Sure, the only thing I can think of that would be bad about this is that you spent your time crossing the map just to do nothing. But is it really that bad? Survivors have it pretty easy most of the time, so wasting a little time (like 30-40 secs at most) would not even ruin the game.

It toxic as its simply that player trying to get the bloodpoints for themselves. Denying their team mate who may have deliverance or another perk that unhooking may affect.
But, you carry on doing it. More people will start leaving you hooked, and you'll have to hang there and figure out why

If they're going for the achievement, it makes more sense to to wait for someone to be near.
If you fail, it's ok, they're right there to unhook you.
If they succeed, yay, they Kobe'd, now you get the heal points.

I already explained all this in the thread, but I'll give you the short version.
Trying to deny someone a hook save when they 10 get away is greedy, thus toxic.
Letting it go, encourages the problem. It may hurt my team to punish those greedy players, but how else will they learn?
And why aren't y'all asking yourselves this simple question...
Why are you trying to Kobe in the first place? Just to see if you're 4% lucky? Why not, idk, just stop doing it?

The achievement can be accomplished with perks, and it only needs to be done once. If a player is just trying their luck, it's toxic.

DBD solo survivor is 1 survivor vs 3 survivors + 1 killer

Who's being punished the survivor on hook or the other 2 teammates? The survivor on hook can just let go and find another game, while the others now have a harder time of escaping (because one's on hook/dead on hook and you're just watching the survivor on hook die). You also give the killer an easier game.

I made a rule for myself that if they managed to get themselves unhooked in front of me?
I turn around and won't even heal them, no matter how badly they want.
And as soon as they are on the hook again, they don't have to count on me to help.
Not if the 2 others are being cut of by the killer or if that person and me are the only 2 left.

Why am I, along with everyone else trying, to kobe in the first place you ask? Well, simply put it is fun and funny to do so. And yeah, to see if we get lucky. It is exhilarating and cool to see ourselves get off a hook without help.
Never said it was a big deal, but implied that it was dumb how someone would throw the game for something that didn't happen. However for you it seems that this is a big deal. I am defending it because you are ruining other people's game experience far more than they are doing the same to you. In fact, it shouldn't even be a problem to you considering how rare it actually happens.

When I get off a gen and run to the other side of the map to unhook someone just to see him unhooking himself in my face and waste so much of my time I just heal them to 99% so I get as many heal points as I can and then leave them injured.
And next time he's hooked you can bet I'll stick to that gen like glue.

If someone tries to kobe in front of me I will let them hit stage 2 if they fail, I don't care. I'm going out of my way to rescue and you're doing it because you know you will get unhooked if you fail, get free points if you succeed.
Luckily most people respect that someone is coming to help them and don't do this.. Did a streamer popularize this or something?

I always attempt, it's exciting to kobe and seeing as it's only 4% chance It's nice to know that when I fail (because I probably am) I have my teammate to save me. Have an entire half Montage of me doing it XD
What sucks is first hook, trying to kobe cuz you're impatient and then suicide.

Your demonstrating a severe lack of empathy towards others players with this response, you get what from kobe'ing? A few BPs. Your teammate misses out on more BPs, possibly pipping and any perks that activate with unhooking. It just feels...I don't know...arrogant maybe to try and kobe in front of someone who has run all the way over to say you. Your "I have my teammate to save me" is evidence of this.
