Why are Jeff's grunts so much louder than the other survivors?

I feel like his grunts are much louder than the rest of the survivors. When I play Jeff without IW other people inevitably ask what porn I'm watching. Aside from that, I definitely notice that killers find me much faster when I'm an injured Jeff than any other survivor.

Anyone else notice this, or am I crazy?

    He has to be the loudest. I had him on a basement hook in shack once and thought there was another Jeff nearby because I could hear his grunts pretty far from the shack. Then I remembered there wasn't even another Jeff in the match 😂

    Well Yui’s a loud survivor too so same thing applies to her.

    Because the human ear isn't sensitive to all frequencies in the same way. If you think the survivors are actually at different volumes, you can probably stick their audio files in an audio-editing software and it'll show you how loud they are.
