Why is the ratio between Female to Male cosmetics so large?
592 Female Cosmetics vs 429 Male Cosmetics
Jeff and Adam seem to get the short end of the stick with the lowest out of any original character.

More people play female characters = more sales on cosmetics.

Pick rate.

Because people play as female survivors more than males.
3 -
Most play females because the males are lacking in good cosmetics so it's like a double edged sword?

Players tend to play females more, Dwight bring exception. I remember someone telling a story about asking for Adam cosmetics and being told he isn't played enough - logic being why make cosmetics that won't be bought/used? They argued back that those players with less cosmetics are played less BECAUSE they don't have as many options.
I'd love for them to chill out on cosmetics for the characters that already have 70+ cosmetics until the other characters catch up. Think would see difference in who is played more often if they all had around the same amount of options.

Exactly this.. there are a ton of other survivors I want to play but their lack of good cosmetics deter me from them.. so I just stick with Dwight, David and Ace.

Ok your point?

Most guys like looking at pretty girls.
Many girls like looking at pretty girls.
Girls = Money in video games, movies, television, etc.
It may not be PC to state it so bluntly but it's the truth.

The popular Survivors get more Cosmetics. You get more for your money (aka paying the designers) if you let them create Skins for popular Characters.
Like, there are thousands of Meg-Mains out there and around 3 Adam Mains in total. So you would rather create Cosmetics for those Survivors who are played more (in my example Meg).

A good chunk of the male survivors are also licensed (Tapp, Quentin, Ash, Steve, Bill.) as opposed to the licensed female characters (Nancy, Laurie and Cheryl)

Didn't people play the females more because they had better crouch animation than the males, leading to better stealth? Ever since the animation updates, they finally balanced that out, so both have equally identical crouch animations.

Looks like a lot of the male characters with fewer cosmetics are licensed characters so that's probably part of it. Steve, Ash, Bill, Tapp, and Quentin are all licensed, right?

Teen hormones

Because more people play the girls. Simple as that

Even without crouching, female survivors are smaller and skinnier (for the most part *Jane*). Thus, making hiding behind trees easier and, when chase, harder to see over tiles.
