Dbd is fine (it's about licensing)
Dead By Daylight is fine, it's not the end of the world.
The issue with Stranger Things sucks to read, but it's (insert company, you know who it is) they do what they want because it's more profitable.
They do this because of profits, it if doesn't seem interesting or they wanna keep their assets, or literally anything they can refuse to renew the document.
For people wanting answers as to why it's happening, I wish you luck. It's an air tight legal document, you're not getting an answer as to why they did it any time soon.
But, look, I get the fear and concern of this license cancel, but coming from that company, it was gonna happen anyway, I kinda expected it to happen, I'm surprised literally no one else has, but honestly they (not Bhvr) just wanted a good marketing scheme so people can sign up on their platform and watch Stranger Things, while Bhvr also agreed that it'd be good on their side as well "come play our game Stranger Things fans and take a look at what else we got."
This company (not saying the name for reasons) just wanted to make a good marketing strategy and it seemed like it either
A.) Pulled off well and no longer needs Bhvr's services
B.) Wasn't working as intended and just wanted to wait out the time before ending the contract.
Other licenses are different. Michael just showed one day because the license holders love Bhvr's game and idea, same goes Leatherface since those contract holders reached out to Bhvr, Freddy is a different story, you can see the ridiculous amount of love the Saw franchise has for Bhvr, Fun World is "lol whatever" Capcom has been rather cool with crossovers so they don't care too much, I have absolutely no idea how Konami

Exactly people are trying to panic off a company who's done this to similar games if i was Fortnite I'd be shaking they're likely next.
4 -
Fortnite is much bigger game then DBD.
DBD needs licenses to survive.
4 -
Well, i personally would still play this game for it's original characters. I started playing having not watched or played any of it's licensed content.

Doesn't matter we live in a world where Money is the most important option surely they're after Fortnites pockets next let's be real.
0 -
Well ST skins in Fortnite have not appeared in the item shop since 2019 i think.
As i said Fortnite is a much much much bigger game than dbd.
0 -
True its possible thats because they already ran their pockets and Fortnite might have done what Behavior is doing now. Also bigger or not it doesn't matter we don't know the numbers Netflix was looking for so we can't say for a fact Fortnite didn't turn it down either.
0 -
We have at least 500k+ players (at least thats what their marketing says....) DBD is also a pretty big game. Fortnite absolutely will be seeing the back end of netflixes hand, smite too.
0 -
Yes but lets be honest here. Most people come into the game for licensed chapters. This is what keeps DBD alive for the most part.
I agree DBD OG chapters are superior.
1 -
But it dosent just some advertisement
Whens the last time you've seen advertisement for dbd when nemmisis came out.
Have you seen any official advertisement before?
0 -
On an AD they said they have 36 million players. They meant to say 36 million accounts who have bought the game but this is still considered a lie about their player count because they dont have millions of players.
0 -
Yeah, the game won't die because of this. DBD is more successful than it currently deserves to be.
1 -
Those advertisements boost up DBDs numbers a lot. When did an OG chapter hit a peak?
Lets not lie here now....
0 -
All Kill.
It was a flop in the dbd forums standards, but in dbd advertisements it was nuts.
0 -
All Kill didnt hit a peak tho.nowhere close to a peak.

Nancy's eyes were too close anyway so I didn't play her much and Steve while I like him I never use him so?
My only question is . . . since Steve and Nancy will NO longer be available for purchase . . . will their perks just be free in the Blood-Web now? Or are they going to be rare?
0 -
They'll periodically show up in the bloodweb

As I said. On the FORUMS it sucked, but outside it was decent. Game Journalist kept going on and on about this "K-Pop" killer, yeah in the forums it's pretty bland as all hell, but to K-Pop fans (which is HUGE) it went to try and reach for their attention.
By the way, Netflix opted to not do this because they're making their own game, three of the licenses including Michael support dbd and enjoy it's concept.
The other licenses is still making some revenue off the chapter even when it's not in use
1 -
At this point, I think what happened is either that the company didn't want to offer the license renewal or they did and Behavior didn't wanna pay the price. Both are fairly likely imo.
Ain't that the truth lol
1 -
Actually they'll appear in the Shrine only for purchase.
0 -
Why did I say bloodweb? Oh God, have I talked about dbd for so long that it auto filled?
0 -
That is true
Like I've said before licensed chapters are a marketing tool. Most of us came for the icons and stayed for the characters and game
0 -
That is honestly hard to believe... how do you reach a game like dbd without watching horror media?
0 -
It sure is.
1 -
Idk about them but I heard about DBD through my friends and I watched all the licensed stuff after they came to DBD. I knew who characters were but not much about thrm.
0 -
"... I have absolutely no idea how Konami"
Idk why but this last bit is so funny to me.
0 -
Then they’ll go grab another license literally today and likely more iconic then Stranger Things so they still have plenty to work with. There was always a chance a license would vanish. But behavior has enough horror icons to grab from. While Stranger Things is popular they’ll still have the most famous slashers in history

Advertisement something that bhvr is slacking on

Because i played friday the 13th the game because i saw my brother play it and it looked really fun. 4 years later when that game is plagued with technical issues however, i think of the next best thing, Dead by Daylight. The trailers and stuff had original killers so i didn't mind buying it.
0 -
I actually found this game because it was on sale on Steam and appeared on the front page. I'd never played a game like it before, and I was never one for horror games either! Bought it because it looked like a fun co-op game for my brother and I to play.
0 -
No i dont think you understand.
Im talking player numbers not outside.
0 -
What? Yes, I am also talking about players who didn't know about dbd and a chapter sparked interest and they joined, right?
You asked for a peak, right? Which usually means how many players were brought in into the game, yes?
Or now are you asking how many players are sticking around now?
0 -
I rather see more original concepts then the licenses.
0 -
I laugh at this because there is a significant portion of the playerbase that likes the DBD original killers better than the licensed ones.
I

Ugh we couldnt hit 60k players with All Kill on release lol.
They made this chapter for the Kpop stans as if they were gonna stay with the game. What were they thinking?
1 -
I also like OG killers much more than licensed but there are still a lot of people who want them to do licensed chapters.

DBD is far from fine.
On PS4 at least, it plays like a nightmare. A real exercise in frustration. Broken to such an extent that it's borderline unacceptable.
For me, the news of the incoming Halloween chapter is what caught my eye with DBD. Hence why I got it soon after PS4 release in 2017.
I liked the idea of having some of my favourite horror characters included in one game.
But if they weren't included, I would of perhaps never played DBD. I certainly wouldn't of been so invested in the game and brought extra chapters and skins.
I think I've become so irritated by the game, the prospect of more licensed content is no longer a worm for this fish.

I was brought to this game by a friend... but did watch some of the media on some of the licenses (mainly SAW... but didn't watch the Leatherface movies) so I am the middle of all of that
Honestly I didn't care much for ST... but being able to play as Demo was fun (even though I'm not good at Demo)
Also I think DBD would want to get in touch with the other licenses to make sure they don't leave either

HAHA I WAS RIGHT

Forgive me for saying what was said in the faq
2 -
I will not forgive you.
I'm kidding lmfao, I knew what you were doing, that reply was more excitement than anything haha

I'd argue that Fortnite does all these huge events that include licenses to keep people interested in the game.
0 -
Gonna cry
1 -
How...? Why is the video so long if they're not talking?
0 -
I mean true but battle royale is a more popular genre. These 2 games dont compare is popularity.Even without the licenses Fortnite would still be the more popular one.
