What could've been the most OP build in DBD history, according to the designers

Coup De Grace
Gearhead
Hangman's Trick
Remember Me
Remember when Coup De Grace gave a 100% bonus, Gearhead lasted for 45 seconds and activated on all skillchecks, Hangman's Trick gave a bonus of 16 meters, and Remember Me gave an additional 30 seconds instead of 16?
Man, if these perks weren't nerfed, I'm sure this woulda been the meta build!!!!

Oof, yeah

I agree with Remember Me,Gearhead and Coup De Grâce part. Those nerfs were beyond stupid and unnecessary.
The change to Hangman's Trick was fine though. It's supposed to counter sabotage plays and not provide that amount of map awareness

Gearhead is still OP tho

Yeah, I wasn't around for the original Hangman's Trick but it seemed more fitting to be called Surveillance with the ridiculous amount of information it gave LOL

Agreed, every time it activates, should just nerf another ######### perk.

Original hangman let old hooks be repaired in a matter of second even when someone was sacrifice.
0 -
had more use than current hangmans does lol

I usually run it on bubba just to see how many people try to sabotage the hooks. I'm not sure why it got changed tho.

The nerf to Hangman's Trick was way too harsh, given how insignificant sabotaging is currently. I'd understand them not wanting to keep it at the numbers it had in the PTB, but 6 meters is nothing. I think it's weaker than old Hangman's Trick and one of the worst perks in the game atm.

Hangman's, Monsterous Shrine and Mindbreaker remain as the most useless and unused Perks for myself (off the top of my head)

Tbf, Hangman's Trick was actually pretty stupid with the amount of information it gave. Hooks spawn at minimum 32m away from eachother, and on smaller maps this would mean that you would LITERALLY every one.
Remember Me makes sense as well since 30 seconds is 1/4 of the whole EGC. I do agree that reducing it to 16 is a little harsh but there's no way 30 seconds would of been fair.
Coup de Grace and Gearhead's nerfs literally make 0 sense to me

I am beyond baffled at why Coup and Gearhead were nerfed. Even now Remember Me is weak (16 seconds is far too low), but plausible under the right conditions, but Gearhead is so painful to run... I see Coup working in certain scenarios, however. That T3 Myers still works hehe

Just pluck 4 perks being nerfed and compare them all together despite their changes not even being in the same updates at all. Big yikes.

I'll never get over those nerfs.
0 -
Yes, because they were all already medicore/bad perks that were harshly nerfed for little reason, or nerfed WAY too much (hangman's) to the point of near uselessness. If they all existed today in their previous form, I guarantee you that you'd still rarely ever see these being run, and you did, hallelujah because this meta is stale as #########.
3 -
That's now how builds work, and your title is misleading.
1 -
Builds are 4 perks and I provided 4 perks that, when combined, in their old forms, would've been an overpowered build according to the developers.
If you have no idea what's being said, that's on your own comprehension.
I edited the title for clarity anyway, hope that helps you.

People complained about the original version of Hangman’s being really weak and situational (which it was, in fairness). Almost nobody ran it except for when going for the Pig adept.
They then reworked the sabotaging mechanic, and reworked Hangman’s along with it, which made sense. Though on the PTB it was kind of stupid because it essentially gave you map-wide aura reading on some maps every time you picked up on a survivor; the range was a bit much. But they overnerfed it to where it is now, i.e. bad again.

Did they say they nerfed these 4 perks specifically just because they would have been overpowered when combined? I'm thinking your just assuming that that's what they are saying.
The reason why i don't think it's a "build" is because strong builds usually consist of synergy.
1 -
Hangman's Trick needed to be nerfed from its PTB state, but like... this ain't in chief. It should have been 16m aura reading of any hook within 32m of you

I... can't fully agree on the Mindbreaker claim. Especially when paired with some form of stealth, popping up at a gen unannounced with all currently repairing survivors having exhaustion (or paused exhaustion) can be quite useful in my eyes.

Tbh hangmans should give a sabo speed reduction
0 -
If you thought 30 seconds was unfair. Wait until you see No way out!
0 -
The difference between No Way Out and Remember Me, is you don't need to just stand there for the whole minute its activate. For Remember Me you HAD to sit there for 55 seconds opening the gate.
1 -
No, even worse, they nerfed them because they thought they were overpowered on their own.
1 -
So they didn't say what your title says, that's why i think it's misleading. I feel like you are twisting the truth to take a dig at the devs. But whatever, i am done with this discussion.

I was mistaking Mindbreaker with Cruel Limits xDTo be honest I only use Surge from Demogorgon's teachables, but Cruel Limits just always seemed liked you'd so often get no value from it as Gens popped more often than not when you're too far away, or in a chase with someone else.

Ok, bye.
I don't know why you're taking the title in the most literal way possible, but okay. I feel like you're just baiting an argument, because my title and post make complete sense.
1 -
Mindbreaker combos with Blood Echo TOO well. Try it and never see exhaustion perks again lol
1 -
I mean, we all know who's the balance dev for this game, so can you honestly say you're surprised?
0 -
I actually don't know who it is.
0 -
Almo I'm guessing? It's been awhile since I intently followed who's who behind DBD (Ghostface was when I was last nonstop following Q&As and their live events)

He's the only Dev "Dev" outside of Community Managers who streams so people blame him for everything they don't like. It's quite irritating because I guarantee decisions made go through more people than just him. Attitudes like ones expressed above just make the case easier for the Developers never interacting with the community and just having CM's be the point of contact due to the harassment and personal attacks they receive.

that part of the perk was the reason I used it. Was disappointed when they removed it
