Do Gen Explosions use disk or RAM?

The discovery of a pure solid state drive fixing most graphical issues for console players had me thinking if this game uses disk for most of its processes like TF2.

Looking at Task Manager, Dbd usually causes around 10-20MB/s disk usage during matches for me. So ....

Educated guess, both. When the first one happens it puts the animation/VFX on the RAM from the disk and then it takes it from the RAM afterwards. Im just guessing because when it usually first happens in a game, it stutters.
