Chapter 1
Recollection

I have recently awakened from underneath a tree with cows hanging from the branches. Shocked by the sudden sight of animal corpses and the smell of decomposing flesh, I quickly realized I have no recollection of where I am, nor how I got here.
I surveyed the area around me and realized I’m on a farm. There is a cornfield and a barn on this property with trees surrounding the area. I decided to inspect the barn and upon entering the open doorway, I found this journal.
I feel as though it is mine, but I don’t remember writing anything in the prior pages. Some of the entries say the same. No memory of how I got here and no memory of writing anything prior, but a fondness for the handwritten pages as well as the handwriting.
The past entries tell of monstrous men who hunt anyone they set their eyes on. From the information provided in this journal, I am being hunted even now. I leave this entry to inform myself should I forget: This is not a dream. I must survive.

Chapter 2
Terrifying Presence

I heard screams in the distance and I am was simultaneously filled with hope and dread. Hope to know I was not alone in such a foreboding place, but dread to hear such frightful screams. Against the fear, I went toward the screaming and as I did, my heart began pounding louder and faster.
As I traversed the corn, the rate of my heart rose as well as my fear. ‘I will die if I get any closer’ was my last thought before I slowly dropped to my knees and hid within the corn stalks.
My heartbeat became erratic and I covered my mouth to prevent any noise from escaping as I heard the rustling of someone moving through the stalks. As the sound of rustling faded, so too did the sound of my heart. The danger had passed.
I rose to my feet and continued in the direction I heard screaming. Upon exiting the cornfield, I found a body of a man horribly mangled with blood pooling on the ground below him. Despair filled me to the point I was frozen in place, but when I heard my heartbeat become louder, I knew I had to go.

Chapter 3
Not an Escape

He saw me. A man with a disfigured face and body wielding a sledgehammer and a chain saw. He chased me, but I somehow lost him in the corn. I’m now back at the tree with the hanging cows. Although I disagree with the smell, I prefer it over being chased by that maniac again.
I’m not sure what to do. There isn’t much hope in this situation, but I’m about to try and run for the tree line in hopes I might find some sort of civilization. Another scream in the distance. I’m not sure how many other people are here. I’m sorry to those I leave behind. I will return if I find help.
Update: I have run through the trees for so long now and I’m getting weary. I am resting now, but I hear something whispering to me. I think my mind is playing tricks on me or this forest is speaking to me.
My heart is pounding due to running for so long, so I’m thinking the sounds I’m hearing are just due to my exhaustion. The moment I catch my breath I wil…

I'll add more eventually.
