There's Something We Can All Agree On
Behavior's response to the cheating epidemic has been extremely disappointing.
No response that I've seen, no announcement of changes, no new anti-cheat, nothing. Zilch. Zero.
I understand it isn't easy to fix this. I understand it takes time and effort and money. I understand you can't catch them all but I'm seeing cheaters in my CrossPlay OFF Xbox lobbies.
It's not even like there are some cheaters getting caught, I don't think the anti-cheat service is catching any of them.
It's something I'm sure we can all agree on. Regardless of our views on balance or anything else, the hacking epidemic is making this game extremely unfun to play.

I tried reporting a cheater too with every evidence they wanted and their response was.....painfully slow. About two weeks later asking for more details apparently my evidence wasn't enough. So this cheater could have been running rampant for that long. I also didn't provide anymore details since it's two damn weeks, I couldn't be bother finding the cheater again to provide details they wanted

I would like them to add a forfeit option after 10 minutes of play so that, at the very least, they are unable to take the lobby hostage. I do not mind playing against cheaters. I mind when the game doesn't end in a timely manner. I am not asking them to fix the problem, I just want a fail safe workaround. Is that truly too much to ask?

Agreed, and that's just a blatant cheater. The number of subtle cheaters is (probably) unreal.
I've come across a survivor recently who changed their movement speed slightly throughout the entire match and I wouldn't have noticed it at all had it not been for a moment where I chased them out in the open and wouldn't even catch up with bloodlust in a perfectly straight line. That person kept changing their speed slightly so it was really hard to notice anything (until I ran after them in the open with Bloodlust and wouldn't catch up that was).

My problem is maily from the pain it is to report a cheater. Add video evidence they say and I understand that. However I am not a streamer and I have no tool on my PC that creates a video while I play the game. Adding a auto-recording of the last round from your perspective to the game would massivly help here.
I am not asking for a better anti-cheat engin. That would get outplayed by cheaters in days. We need something to provide the evidence more easiely and a quicker and harsher response to player who cheat. Like seriously most cheaters who just finish generators or fly are very, very easy to spot and should get their ban asap. There is no grey area here.
I am all in for a better surveilance of more subtel cases. Something can look like cheating while at the same time it is just a perk. Think about Fixated here. However instant healing, flying, instant generators, instant blinds, flying hatched throwing Bubbas and stuff like that are easy to spot and punish.

How can a response be disappointing if there is no response at all?

I'd like them to differentiate between crashes and DC's.
I've had someone come up and drop a nuclear bomb load of fireworks in front of me and caused my game to go into "chainsaw-mode" and crash.

That's what makes it disappointing.

This kind of cheating is just the worst. Never happend to me in DbD but in Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3. Cheaters would abuse the coding and animations for spells and stack them so hard that my PC just said "goodby". Most of them would do it just when they lost a PvP encounter and the only option to evade was to use the key combination to quickly shut down the game when you saw that happening, hoping you are fast enough...
Cheating to win is bad, cheating to screw people ingame is trash, cheating to damage peoples device is just the lowest you can go.

I mean it doesn't affect cosmetic sales so they don't care. If you notice though as soon as the cosmetic mods became know about they shut down modding real quick because you could make a custom mod shirt for your survivor or a weapon for your killer. Cheaters don't kill the cash flow so eh they aren't in a big hurry to fix it.

This is a very "I expect so little and yet I'm still disappointed" type thing.

First cheater I ran into in DS3 just dumped a #########-ton of illegal items directly in my inventory in hopes of getting me banned.

The cheater problem isn't going to go away until behavior goes after the sites people can buy cheats from.
You can just buy a new account after being banned for like $5.

what is that noise in the second video???

I love how they ban people that did a cosmetic glitch over people actually hacking and ruining games. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Honestly, I don’t think there is much they can do without a full rewrite of the game, which lets be honest, will never happen. It’s disappointing, but it is what it is.
I don’t think the devs are happy with the performance of their game and the rampant cheaters, but I don’t think they get a say on what they can work on. Their bean counter bosses are probably constantly breathing down their throats to keep content coming every three months when they need 2 years to rewrite the game in modern code with modern anti-cheat.
Heck, the games code is so bad, every chapter release in the last year came out in a broken unplayable mess, which looks like is only going to get worse.
My only hope for this game is for another company to purchase the game and do it justice, but that can backfire too.

I don't know why we need new DLCS every 3 months I get it because of the money, but there's bigger things we need to worry about in this game.
2 -
Behavior needs a new chapter every three months because they have people they need to pay and they need to show profits for shareholders.
The game also needs something to consistently attract new players and bring back old disgruntled players, even if temporary. As stale as the chapters have been in recent time, the newness still helps “freshen” up the monotony of the game. At it’s core, the game is actually simple and just becomes tedious over time. New maps and killer powers help remedy it.
I think the best thing Behaviour can do is just hire a separate new team that focuses on a new engine but I don’t know the costs for something like that and if it would be worth it for them. They might see this game as a sinking ship and are now just trying to bleed it dry as much as they can.

I've seen them multiple times on Fog Whisperer streams. SpookNJukes has videos on YouTube of them. One clip I saw he started with trap on his head and went "wouldn't it be funny if it was the instant kill hack" and sure enough it was. There's sooooo many videos of hackers it's just sad at this point.

Thankfully, there isn't any naming or shaming.
4 -
Probably Pinhead's Box being solved. The others had no idea it was a hacker until later.

I've reported the one guy in this video, no response. Included this video as well.

I haven't seen any hackers in a while, but I started to see more recently. I ran into a couple of subtle speed hackers the other night.
Something really needs to be done about this, the hacking problem is getting out of hand.

I agree.

I made a thread earlier as a guide regarding cheaters and such
I wish there was more proactive things we could do as a community to help solve this issue since the developers aren't breaking their silence surrounding the issue, for one reason or another.
1 -
Yeah, I don't know why they haven't said anything regarding the issue.
Remember, the first step to fixing your problem is admitting you have one :)
1 -
Remember kids, there's no issue as long as you don't acknowledge it! Here, have some bloodpoints while watching this dev supported stream full of players who've no clue what's going on!
