Amanda's Letter good now, always good, or I am facing scrubs?
So idk if I am on low MMR or what, but suddenly I am finding that Amanda's Letter is shockingly legit. For reference:
Old Amanda's Letter:
1) 12m aura reading while crouched
2) -3 RBTs in inventory
3) -2 Jigsaw Boxes
New/Current Amanda's Letter:
1) 16m aura reading while crouched
2) -2 RBTs in inventory
I've been pairing it with either Jigsaw's Annotated Plan or Jigsaw's Sketch to bump my RBT inventory up to 3 (even though current Annotated Plan is worse than old Last Will and has a stupid/unnecessary downside, it's still a good add-on IMO), and it gives me the best of both worlds. Did the buffs actually make the add-on legit, was it always legit and I was way underselling it all along, or is it still not good and I'm just getting lucky with who I'm facing?

I think it was underrated even before and it is probably my favorite add on for pig rn.

I have been slamming for several games, and it makes the ambush actually able to AMBUSH someone. It is honestly making me second-guess my opinions on the add-on the whole time (to an extent, since it WAS buffed).

The Buffs helped. I think the main thing is that this Add On now is actually decent to use on every Map. Before, you were only able to use it on Indoor Maps, because you really had to capitalize on the Aura Read, since it removed not only more Bear Traps, but, more important, half of your Boxes.

Did you used it in the past and how was your experience?
Did you maybe dismissed it because most of the community thinks it is bad?
That is why I usually try things and stick to what works for me.

Like all-seeing for Wraith, it's pretty easy to figure out that a pig is using it, but I personally still don't find it crazy to go against. It's still PIG to me. She has precise information on me which makes playing around her dash a liiiiiiiiittle more tricky, but her dash is still the same; pretty easy to deal with. On top of that, her only having 2-3 traps makes facing her a little less difficult in soloq with teammates who are going down to her fairly quickly and having to do nothing but remove traps for 1-2 minutes.
As for using it just for info while getting around, I don't stealth and I make my presence known because I don't mind getting chased by a Pig. Half the time, I also see Pig coming anyway, and she can see me, so it doesn't end up mattering a ton in my experience. The exception to this would be very crowded maps or indoor maps.
I can't personally say it's that great, but it's probably pretty useful against your very average players, which makes it worth running in a good number of your games.

On that note, grateful for removal of box penalty. It made the add-on much weaker while also enabling coin-flippy griefing by just standing in front of a box and giving the trapped Survivor 50/50 chance of death.
Only a small number of times, admittedly. I felt, as Aven_Fallen stated above, that the 12m aura reading was not that useful outside of interior maps and that the loss of the RBT gear hurt Pig significantly. Now, the aura reading is pretty real and the RBT downsides can be mostly mitigated with the right add-on.

I’ve always been a stealth pig and for me it’s always been strong especially with a totem build. It’s a shame it’s an Iri and can’t be used every game, but it does make sense at least.

The add-on was always 16 meters since its buff like 4 years ago. The effect was always really good. Removing your other powers was really bad though so most people didn't use it. your forced to run jigsaw sketch+Amanda letter to make it not erase your trap power. 3 traps and aura reading is not too bad.
main issue with pig crouch is slow movement. I dislike how they made a crouch movement speed add-on instead of just increasing her crouch movement to normal 115%. its very counter-productive to add-on. your suppose get into chase quicker with add-on but moving so slow like snail is like counter-productive to finding players quickly. For that reason, I think crouch pig is still underpowered among her super lackluster anti-loop that is too easy to counter. I guess its just balanced for rank 20 new players. Too high kill-rate apparently.

Oops, Amanda's Letter was 12 meters originally, not 8. My bad. That said, it was buffed to 16 meters when she got her add-on re-work.

I think that losing 2 traps is still kinda bad. I didn't try the buffed add-on, but i will for sure.

If you're conquering with Pig then you're likely not facing good survivors.

That's why I am using one of the two add-ons that gives her an extra trap so she has three.

Wraith has the same thing but better. So I'd say it's still bad, but that's mainly Pig.

it baffles me how bad so many survivors are vs ms piggles. Just had a survivor with their trap not even on, blocking two jigsaw boxes while a meg with over half her timer gone was trying frantically to get hers off.

if the map favors stealth yes, if not absolutely not.

I don't really agree with this anymore. I think the 16 meters is enough that it's not just meme add-on like Mirror Myers. Even the most open levels aren't just flatlands with no obstacles that can block LOS.

Still garbage. A decent player can still ambush without it, all it does is means your stalling is halved which absolutely cripples her.

that's true, i guess ambush-heavy pig players or people running combat straps would benefit

I think you are overestimating how good ambushing normally is when it gets beat by dropping the pallet. It is just not a good anti-loop tool. Plus, you can use an add-on to only lose one RBT in the process.

I've been a Pig main for like 4 years, I know perfectly well how good her power can be.

I have been a Pig main for several years myself. Her ambush is bad IMO.

Well, after playing it myself, having 16 meters aura-reading and three traps actually feels like a solid build (i think it is better than base kit Pig). But, in all honesty, and especially for an iridescent add-on... they could drop the bear trap removal as a drawback; but that is just my opinion.

It would be pretty good if you still had 4 rbts. I don't want to sacrifice my power for something that can be countered with OOS or spine chill. Honestly it could be basekit with 4rbts and she would still be low tier
