Console can't see
Yes, it's a horror game. Yes, it's supposed to be dark and creepy. BUT YOU LITERALLY cannot see on some maps. The brightness on console is way too low and you can't change it at all!
Behavior, PLEASE tell me you're working on this because on some maps it's just too dark to competently move around. I want to play, but it's so hard to see

Maybe calibrate your Monitor or TV correctly.
If there is a function like "auto contrast" turn this off. I have all Picture enhancers disabled as thay normally worsen the quality.
Brightness is fine for me on PS4 on TV and on PC on monitor.

Ideally want you want to adjust is gamma on your screen

As a console player I have had no issue with the lighting besides the stupid swamp and that's mostly due to the grass and lower areas

I play other games than DBD. Heck other horror games with dark areas...I can see. It's not a TV problem, it's a this game problrm

Looks fine to me on ps4. When they reworked The Game I remember it being very dark but they've since fixed it

Handheld mode on the Switch is the worst for this even with the system's maximum brightness fully turned up.

On xbox series x, same problem here. The last 2 updates, the game is darker and darker. I have not changed any settings on my tv or Xbox. I cannot adjust the brightness, gamma or backlighting any higher. Areas in the game that had shading previously are now just solid black. The only thing that changed is the game updated to the latest version.

Just another console draw back I'm afraid.
Sadly only pc players can brighten stuff up (often too far imo) and they use that disgusting stretch res.
Like most things we just have to make do
