mmr isn't the problem to fix
long post but needs adressing.
So your a survivor (solo) and get mached with a killer who has 4k hours in this game...you and your teammates all have yellow and green perks.... a garanteed lose.....the first team mate goes down in the first 10s of the game and kills himmself on hook....the second one follows and DC's....so what the real problem here....the fact that this team should never face this killer or the fact that this killer jus doesn't give a ######### about facing noobs.....same goes for swf's facing noob killers.
Its us...players who refuse to adjust our playstyle to the players we are facing.
For killers, you can always get your 4k, you dont need to stomp at 5 gens, camp and tunnel at 5 gens...
for swf's...have some fun, and let killers hook you if your that good, with your skills and team you will always get out.
i responded in a DC tread the other day that got closed cause of my opinion on that....come on BHVR, do you reallly believe players want to DC....i dont like it either but when your games back to back are toxic ( no mather what BHVR says about it) camping, tunneling and stomping in survivor games take the fun away...and if its 1 or 2 games a day...fine, butt the state of this game in 2022 is non stop getting tunneled and stomped. If you really dont want players to DC then adres and fix this kind of gameplay, i sure as hell want fun games that i like to stay in.
Fixing or chanching your mmr is not gonna change a damn thing, we as players should respect eachothers fun a litlle more and that could fix the DC problem, BHVR could do more to reward longer lasting gameplay with more bp for instance.
Enough to think of to fix the real issues.
Today i played survivor, 20 matches, 2 of them i got killers who played fair and respected the fact that we all sucked. From the other 18. i got stomped 11 of them, game over in 2 or 3min....the others i got tunneled out of....so 2 escapes with the help of a nice killer....the rest.....
How can you expect new players to stay playing if this is the state of the game?

Well your example isnt true, if it was kill rates would be fat higher and people would get tome challenges such as escape with 0 perks or even adepts done.
Also not the killers fault someone DCs, and quite often the person who quits is near the killers mmr just they didnt like how fast they went down.
Mmr is a problem, it's a system based on kills and escapes and neither show the real skill of the player especially the escape part.
Sounds like you have a bit of entitlement expecting the killer to play by your rules and what you deem fair, while I personally do try to play fair if I notice the people I verse arent so strong but a killer can lose to bad players by playing "fair" so it's not really fair.
People who quit dont care about BP, they dont care about the other players either and the only real way to punish it is longer bans or put them in the salt mines where quitters are matched with quitters

Yes and no. MMR is an issue because it uses values for measurement that do not represent the actual performance of the players. Someone may loop the Killer for the entirety of five generators and because they died, it's considered a loss.
A Killer that gets the 4 kills is considered a win regardless on how it happens. I can tell you, multiple times, I die not because the Killer is good but because my teammates leave me to die on my first hook and they only play to hide.
This is all SBMM issue for not taking more variables into account than just Escapes / Kills. I insist the game needs to address its own health because it's truly not at a great spot currently... though it has been at worst spots in the past and some issues have been way too prevalent.

I agreed with everything up until "for killers, you can always get your 4k..."

See it isn't MMR being the only issue
It's Maps, Perks, Items, Addons, Offerings, Killer Powers and Playstyles
Also Emblems have something to do with what we see in match
MMR considers Kills V Escapes while Emblems consider what happens in the match... One can get a pip after death while another doesn't get a pip but escapes
So it's a lot of "wrong" in terms of balance and not a lot of "right" in terms of balance

When I got matchmaked with people with <10 hours in the game while I have 700h in the game, I think I'm right when I say the mmr isn't right. I haven't played the game much since December so maybe this kind of situation has changed.
Although I agree there's also a problem of misconduct. For instance, I wouldn't be surprised that at some point we might lose post-game chat to make it like dbd mobile (predefined "GG", "GGWP", "Close one!", etc. and stickers) since they clearly said they do not want to add post-game chat for console players.

The matchmaking algorithm is the huge problem, along with throwing everyone in the same queue.
SBMM is programmed to be self-defeating. There's nothing wrong with being a super sweaty 4k hr killer. You should face squads that can handle that, not 500 hr survivors farming Rift challenges. The whole point of the MMR system was to prevent those games, and they've got it configured to do literally the opposite of that as soon as there's a queue.

Sounds like a match making issue.

Let me guess - you’re one of those killer player who 12 hooks/4K’s with even low-tier killers using no addons and meme perks only even against the sweatiest SWF pro survivor teams.

”Everyone getting thrown in the same queue” - this is exactly the problem. If there were enough killer players, you’d have no problem quickly matching survivors and killers with similar skill levels against each other. The whole problem is there aren’t enough killer players (gee, I wonder why). Most of the time the SBMM system will match next available killer (regardless of MMR) against a given survivor team to keep them from waiting in the queue for too long.
If BHVR would release the survivor-to killer-ratio and MMR data to prove me wrong, I would happily shut up and admit I’m wrong. But I suspect the reason they won’t is because it will show that this is the exact reason why SBMM doesn’t work in this game.

nope, and to think of it....bhvr should pay me for what i'm doing as a killer. i go up against new players 8 of the 10 matches, i put on pressure with hooks, never camp or tunnel and chase them down so they can learn to loop......in the end they all go free. Why?
When i started this game i ran into killers that played for fun and non toxic....these matches always made me happy as a noob.
now, you never get hatch again almost every killer goes for the 4k in a way that makes you think his life dependse on it.....and no need to discuss the amount of proxy camping tunneling players......so yeah, i main a trrapper now to balance the toxicity ( in my mind atleast).....and the amount of thank you or fun games i get in the end......

I play as toxic as humanly possible to try and balance out what survivors do to other killers. But I am just one man, I could never hope to match their wasteland of degeneracy and then you insult my mission in life by counteracting all of my efforts? For shame, toastcrusher.

I faced 1 killerr who destroyed us yesterday and asked him why he would slaughter us like that....nothing was touched and we al died....he started blaming mmr cause he just wanted a fun game? we should never been put in his lobby according to him..
ITS YOUR OWN CHOICE to play like that....you as a skilled killer should adjust to tthe team your facing and give folks a chance tto learrn the game (imo)

and round and round she goes....
Weird part is...i almost never seen toxic survivors matched up with me and when i face swf's as a killer.....these are the most fun matches i have cause they are the most interactive. But then again, i dont get mad at klicking beams to lure me in a chase

I hate to say it but working MMR is the solution.
Lets not focus on fixing the MMR and just make everyone be nice to each other, is just fantasy world thinking.
New players stay in the game because they are matched with other new players and a working MMR should do that. Currently the system throws you under the bus in the name of fast queue times which isn't a great solution, especially for new player retention.
Its not toxic to play well.
Believe me if I down you all at 5 gens up I'm probably going to chuckle to myself about how it went and then move on, I'm not here to babysit people in game I'm here to play a few rounds of DBD and there is nothing wrong with that.

MMR doesn't ruin the game. It's simply showing how bad the game is, which far more people have come to realize as a result. An actual good MMR system would further help show what balance changes need to be made.
Despite that, I think it's easier to just get rid of the MMR system, so we could have randomized fun like before. What we were hoping for, that the devs would see their own game's problems and fix them as a result of this system, is just a fantasy. They've shown they're not up to the task. If they were, they wouldn't still be referring to killer kill rates and map kill rates, which don't tell us a thing about the match.

Completely disagree. The killer can go all-out if they want. It's the survivors' jobs at that point to learn the game. If they're facing baby killers all the time, they'll never learn. The killer simply cannot risk playing nice for you until he's found out what caliber of a team you are, because when killers do that against efficient teams, and then decide to change up their strategy to play dirtier, it's too late at that point because they've already lost. You can experience that yourself when you play killer.
