What if Hex:Ruin became a trap Totem such as haunted ground

While I hate current ruin I think it will be pretty underwhelming next patch so I thought what if it becomes a hex which activates its effect when cleansed?
As example it could take X% of progress from the gen with highest repair value and block all gens for Y seconds when cleansed.
Additionally at the start of the game it would show the aura of a random Totem to each survivor for 5 seconds.
You now might ask why. This way Survivors would get a notification ruin is in play. Now you can run perks like devour hope, 3rd seal, blood favor etc. and since survs know ruin is in play they will now hesitate to cleanse any totem out of fear to trigger the ruin one.
