Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

I've played killer (post-patch) in both the US and Asia. Differences in attitude are very big.

I'm an American living in Japan, and was able to play a couple days (post-patch) when traveling in the US and now a few days back here in Asia.

America - In 15 matches, it was basically like the doom mongers here were saying. Constant DCs on first downs, dying on hook, refusing to move once they saw which killer I was playing, etc. (and lots of chat abuse). Most people still ran DH, but usually just ran in a straight line with it (and sometimes DCed when I waited it out and hit them).

Results - 12 4Ks, 2 3Ks, 1 2K. Most of the 4Ks were because of DCs or first hook suicides.

Asia - nothing changed. In 25 matches (ish) so far, no DCs and one person suiciding on first hook. No post-game abuse (in English or Japanese). A few people ran DH, and I was burned by really smart usages of it several times. Some people were really good at 360ing, and then activating DH in the middle of the 360 (when I couldn't see the animation).

Results: About 10 4Ks, 4 3Ks, 6 2Ks, and 5 0-1Ks.

TLDR: Its about attitude, not an impossible power gap.

Yeah I do think region plays a role. I'm in Western Australia and I get matched with a lot of Asian players (based on the characters in their usernames). I've said a few times on this forum that camping and tunneling aren't the norm in my games, and I can't remember the last time someone DCd or let go on hook. I thankfully don't get these issues. My biggest issue is probably being left on hook, but even that isn't often.
