Idea: Adjust how the PTB is used
What would you all think of a more... permanent (or at least longer lasting) PTB where they upload smaller changes like small perk reworks (or small batches of changes, but not as big as the ones we normally see) to see how the community handles it? A LITERAL PTB, so to speak.
This would probably require the whole "needing to install another client again" to be fixed, but it would allow for longer testing of ideas without directly messing with the 3 months schedule plus they wouldn't have to worry about console update fees being a problem if they could just update a single PTB instead. We could test more overall perk reworks and give more feedback.
And I'm not sure about this, but if the PTBs are English only until they go live, then maybe that would save time on needing to translate updates when they go live because they could test changes on the PTB and snipe bad updates before they go live.

I think that if we want consoles to try this out also . They should out these small changes to beta

Problem is, Sony and them charge huge prices per patch, a PTB for consoles is impossible because of this iirc. Sony and them also require that new updates be sent to them as well, which can take weeks.
It would be better if they limited this permanent or longer lasting PTB to PC because of this. We could get rapid PTB updates and evolve DBD faster because of a longer PTB.

This is literally one of my better topics, I'd rather it not be ignored so easily.

this is always a great idea. Fast patches that try wacky #########.
imagine instead of theorizing in a forum or on a whiteboard we just... actually test them?
imagine just testing:
- removing unhook grab
- buffing keys
- perk reworks/buffs/nerfs
- basekit changes
- new wacky ideas that might be hyper bugged
there s so many things we could do with either fast patces or a lot of ptbs. I dont get why this isnt a thing yet tbh

Not sure about removing unhook grab, that's what allows M1 Killers to stop Survivors from just running up and saving.
But yeah... removing unhook grabs still would be interesting to test, even if we have an idea how that would play out.

I believe BHVR has an specific update schedule due to their workplace and how people can work whenever they want so long as they meet deadlines. They've been given awards for "one of the best places to work in Canada" (I've seen reviews that mention they have "morning stand-up"), and I feel like the problem is that they're potentially too flexible that they've become inflexible at changing their system.
I'd imagine that setting up a side PTB shouldn't be too hard, even with how their workplace works. It'd take maybe one or two engineers but then you could throw small updates at the PTB whenever the balance team wanted and let people test them.
