Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Empathy ~ "It's Not What Changed, It's What Didnt Change"...

Empathy.

It's a word that can carry a lot of weight in it's action. The ability to share and understand someone's emotions and feelings towards something is important. I really feel like the community overall lacks empathy, they see themselves as apart of one side and fail to see the struggles of the other side which they see others apart of.

With the release of the midchapter update, survivor retention rates have dropped, and killer retention rates have gotten way higher. It's a mix of survivors swapping to killer and killers coming back to the game. But I feel like people just fail to see and empathize with why this is...

The midchapter update, in my opinion, wasnt the "disaster" everyone was claiming it to be, it made a lot of good changes. But I feel like what is driving people away from survivor isnt the changes they made, it's the lack of changes made... And I will say this loudly in the back for those otherwise dont understand. SoloQ got no quality of life.

It isnt "impossible" to win in SoloQ, but the miserable and drawn out matches have become more abundant, and a lot of motivation to play the game has left people as a result. People arent happy, and it's perfectly understandable as to why it is. You have 4 uncoordinated players with no physical way of communicating, trying to play a team game which requires coordination and communication. DbD at it's core is designed to be a 4v1, but it really does feel like a 1v1v1v1v1.

I know youve seen a lot of threads complaining about it. But just a tiny bit of a deeper dive into everything, provide more insight where needed. People feel as if their voices arent heard, so expect more posts from others, this isnt going to be the last. And I know BHVR is listening to the community, but at times, for most people, it just doesnt feel like it, Im sure everyone has felt this way at some point.

And Im tired of people saying "survivors should adapt" as if it's some revelation. I was never fine with the old "killers should adapt", and I wont accept what this is now. And this isnt some hate thread against killers because it's not killers, it's the players in general, it's the lack of empathy, it's the lack of caring entirely, the inability to recognize the struggles of others.

Just, try to do better, be a little bit more thoughtful.
