EXP permanently 1 for co-op partner after like 1 match

I'm not sure what triggers it but after a bit of play the co-op partner starts receiving only 1 exp for everything. This only happens to the non host and seems to be permanent from then on from outpost to outpost.
At the end of the day, me and my brother after one outpost whoever was not the host would be getting just 1 EXP.
Switching who is hosting only fixed it for one outpost and then the bug returned.
Edit: so small update seems switching host does not always fix the issue, yesterday after switching host my brother started with 1 exp for everything, I think only tomb loot gave him something and it was reduced
