Could someone explain how the anniversary event works like I'm 5?
I'm still confused how the masquerade event works exactly. I've tried googling and still didn't fully understand

(Don't think you're new to the game but in case you skipped last year's anniversary) :
It looks like it'll work like last year : there are pillards with an "invitation" appearing in the map. When you pick it up, you either have to power the gates (as survivor) or play the game to the end (as killer) to get a cosmetic reward from the anniversary set : 6 masks for survivor and 6 masks for killer. The mask you get is random, but you'll eventually get all of them. There are multiple pillars in the map, everyone can get the cosmetic in any given game, provided they find an invitation and survive long enough.
It looks like killers are going to get an event addon that allows them to break pallets quicker (kind of like during halloween they get the blight serum), and it looks like survivors are getting an event item that allows them to block a window.
I don't know any more of how the 7th is going to go ! =)

I've played for several years but I just was never able to participate in the anniversary events coincidentally

Well, if it's anything like last year it should be pretty fun ! Tons of bloodpoints offerings, games at +500% bloodpoint gain are always great, especially as killer. Especially since now you have automated bloodweb to spent the hundred of thousands of bloodpoints you get from games !

According to the anniversary stream (https://www.youtube.com/live/HSlaDMyYyEs?feature=share&t=5179) the event items are the invitations themselves instead of something found in the bloodweb. If you want the mask you'll have to save the invitation, but if you already have all the masks or don't care about them you can use the invitation as an item during chase.

Seems that way. I just want the stackable cakes to work properly. I still remember rushing home from work one year and the cakes did not stack. UHHH the disappointment. I look forward to the anniversary every year to see how many I can stockpile (while using them of course).

What do you mean not stack ?
I remember last year people complained that a glitch was fixed where you could get way more than 600% bp the first few days because the cakes multiplied with themselves to absurd proportions.

Stack means the effect can be added together, or "Stacked" together.
so with the anniversary cakes, if each player (so 5 players) uses one that's the offerings of 107 Bp, that effect is 107 x 107 x 107 x107x 107 (or 107 x 5) so stacking means the bloodpoints effect is doubled with each new offering played in that game.

Yeah that's what I was thinking of. I do'nt think this is coming back unfortunately if they removed it last year !
