Freddy rework is great, but the power isn't the biggest issue
I really like the rework, and think it's a step in the right direction: the power allows for a lot more skill expression, and although it probably needs a couple more tweaks, I think it's still much better than the current version. The issue I'm having is it still doesn't feel like it lives up to Freddy's legend. He's a trickster who toys with his victims, and the only real 'toying' he does are dream pallets, and those still feel so generic. His power doesn't reflect his nature well enough, it doesn't emphasize the horror icon he is. I'd rather he be bottom c-tier than have a generic power.
What's worse is his animations still feel so generic as well. Instead of swiping the pallet out of existence or something he just kicks it like a standard boring killer. He's Freddy Krueger, The Nightmare, the dream demon! There are so many creative options for animations, it's such a waste not to pick some. The only thing scary about his mori is that it makes the real life player fall asleep watching it, and all of his animations are generic as well (except for wall break and locker grab, those barely pass). And despite being the perfect character for it, he has zero voicelines. I know there's practically no possibility of it happening, but a full animation rework and voicelines would be incredible and breathe new life into the character. That's a big thing Freddy's missing that I think nobody's talking about.
