So where is our official response regarding turning bots off for 2v8? I'd like to play the mode.

There’s zero chance that BHVR reverses course on the bots. They have a long history of sticking with changes even if those changes are very bad. A good example is the SBMM system. I don’t think they’ve ever publicly admitted a mistake other than the occasional “we overbuffed/overnerfed this perk or this killer”.

I really do hope they address it or at least mention it. There are too many problems with the bots at the moment that it's making the game unfun for both sides.

steam 24-hour peak player count dropped about 20% already after one day. Players who jumped back in to DbD for the event are already sick of the bots (probably Legion as well)

The bots are more useful than some of the actual braindead survivors i've been getting in my matches. So i'd rather they stay to relieve queue times.

I didn't start playing this PvP game to end up getting matched at the start with or against bots, and I don't intend to now. Full stop.
DbD is basically dead to me for this entire 2v8 event, because 2v8 screws over 1v4 queues too. So, if I'm either forced to play this game with bots, or play another game, I guess I'm playing something else. I was going to buy some RE skins too, but I'm not rewarding these devs for their poor decision making.

As they mentioned already - the small repeating player feedback here is saying "No more bots" but on the various social media platforms people are actually okay with the bots.
I personally do not mind them. Just my opinion. Most lobbies I have been in, there was only 1 and he sat on gens, so in my experience I have no distain.

The bots are only added in the 2v8 mode, not the main game. You will get bots in the main game ONLY if your teammates give up for some reason. You can choose not to play the 2v8.

Idk if you've ever tried to play 1v4 while 2v8 is going on, but it's more miserable than usual. There are longer queues all around because many people (especially a lot of casual players) play 2v8, and so the only people left in 1v4 queues at my mmr are legit sweat lords. The occasional sweaty game is fine, but it's not very fun if it's nearly every game (as it is when 2v8 is going on).

Oof. Yeah, I am terrible at this game so I am always in casual matches. Lot of giveups/dcs/trolling. Never a dull match though! I still enjoy playing. I saw a video about the skill caps in DBD and you are either really good at DBD or really terrible it basically said. I am on the terrible end. I have played this game for years and none of my friends play it anymore, so I am in solo que all the time. I would think the competitive players wouldn't even bother with 2v8 as it is a total meme game mode.

Following the hotfix, no official statement, bugs are rampant and bots are still forced, nothing on the forums stating about any of this, as far as I can see?? Why the raido silence.

It was such a non issue, they rushed a hotfix out to stop people dodging to get 2v7's and 2v8's.

Are you serious??? So now we cant even get 8 man lobbies period? So you do want to mess around your solo/duo/trio queuers in this mode, you literally do not care about the survivor experience
Behaviour sort it out, this is actually upsetting because I was really looking forward to this

The queues are just as bad as before. The bots made 0 difference. They should just turn them off as no one likes them.
