Blood Moon 2025 proves that the game is balanced around rushing/halting gen speed. That's a problem.
So we've made gens more tedious for you to do as Survivor, completely nerfed Killer powers that need gens to function properly, nerfed all the gen perks both sides, made it so toolboxes do nothing, and mafr generators so boring and slow that I'd rather sleep through this event than continue. You go to one pump and waddle back and someone snipes it from you last second anyway. Killer has no gen pressure period, and Survivor is even more tedious on generators.
And somehow they thought this was a… good idea?
This is not fun, BHVR. This event is not fun on either side, there is no challenge as Survivor and gens feel even more boring with an extra step (so you WANT to slam them to get out of the round or get any points however piddlng), and there is nothing 95% of Killers can do to stop 5 gens going off in under three minutes no matter how well they play to stop it so they just resort to tunnelling and camping. Combined with the sheer sweat from the Ghoul's release on both sides, it breeds a genrushing and tunnelling epidemic like never seen before, to the point it's not a good time for anyone. It's not fun for people who like to win, and it's not fun for casuals like me who just wanna play a few rounds This. Is not. Fun. The way this has been implemented is not fun. For either side.
This has finally stripped the fun and the soul from DBD in a way no other event has, and no, the massive Bloodpoint boost does next to nothing when the offerings are personal and these gens don't even give you many Lightbringer or Destruction points. It's pathetic how little points you get for doing the Blood gens compared to a standard gen.
First of all, fix this now. Not in a few days, not in a week, right this very second NOW. Make it so blood generators move the same as a normal gen. Make it so filling one takes stages and cannot be sniped, make it so bloodpoints from these gens are shared. Make it so everything is a blood generator or nothing is. Make it so gen perks work on them. Add a basekit slowdown mechanic for Killers when a gen is completed to prevent the genrush and make them feel they don't need to tunnel and sweat, DO SOMETHING to make these generators work better and feel more fair while also giving Survs more to do that doesn't pit them against each other for points, because the idea of different kinds of gens is really cool and it would be a shame if they flop because of this terrible mechanic.
Next up? Your next balance patch needs must introduce a cap on how fast or slow a generator can progress/regress, period end of. 25% faster or slower, no matter how much you stack or how many people are on it or what perks you bring. 25% for everyone. No more boosted repair speed stacking. No more four slowdown builds. No more. Both feel BAD, BAD, BAD to play against, they always have, they always will. I'm tired of having to bring gen perks and toolboxes to do anything because every game is a war of attrition. I'm sure everyone else playing is, too.
Third: Balance toolbox repair charges. Particularly, balance Commodious and event toolboxes, they're the real problem. No item should have enough charges to last through a nuclear fallout, it's really unfair to half the Killer roster period end of. It's been unfair for years, you fixed medkits, you fixed everything else. The rest re fine, it's just these ones. Time to fix toolboxes.
Finally, give us alternative wincons, and make pipping as easy as simply playing the game. Enough hooks to count as a 3-4k but no kills should be a win. Escaping through hatch should be a win. Doing a lot of altruistic or repair or chase should be a win. Helping your team but dying should be a win. Using your power as Killer well should be a win. Even killing ONE Survivor in a really cracked team or ONE of you escaping against a really skilled Killer should be a win. Enough is enough, the MMR system does not work, losing feels too much like a punishment and there's no actual reward for climbing in MMR except for MORE sweat and HARDER games until you meet your match and inevitably lose round after round after round both sides. That isn't fun, that isn't casual. That's sweaty. Your current system makes this game sweaty. Curbstomps are not fun, and new mechanics do not make up for it. Score events should only be for blooddpoints, and pips should happen so that you get one for playing the round through and another for hitting one of several different wincons for a max of two.
This system does not work, this event is not fun, and the game is at a tipping point. We need to do something about generators, their speed, and generator perks on both sides. Even if you don't agree with me on that, you must agree we need to do something about how tedious the game is and how sweaty the MMR system is at the very least.
Because this really. REALLY. Is not fun anymore. I'd much rather play Lights Out or 2v8 again. I'd rather play Chaos Shuffle again. Anything, ANYTHING but this.

And yet again, I post a balanced take showing how the event is bad for both sides, and it gets downvoted to oblivion. I point out how the mode is not fun as Survivor, feels bad as Survivor, and is too easy as Survivor - which it is, then give nuanced ways the game could EASILY be made more fun for everyone, and I get DOWNVOTED for it instead of actual nuanced discussion. Just like Reddit.
God, this community is trash.

Don't play the event, that's what I'm doing.

I'm just so disappointed. I liked the first Blood Moon, I was really looking forward to this one… :( Instead they made it boring just to test a new mechanic.

You know that meme with Principal Skinner? That’s you”Am I so out of touch? No, it’s the community that is wrong.”
Also, I don’t know if you know this, but fun is subjective.

I am far from the only person pointing out the issues with this event. Content creators are doing it, people here are doing it, Reddit is doing it. Both Killers and Survivors are saying the same thing but from different perspectives: These generators are a problem.
If most of the community is saying this event isn't fun? It's not fun, and I'm afraid YOU are the one who's out of touch.Post edited by LockerLurk on-2 -
Then why are you getting downvoted lmao

I refuse to engage with trolls. Add to the conversation or leave please.
Survivor Mains are posting that the gens feel bad. Killer Mains are posting that these gens feel bad. That means the gens feel bad for everyone.2 -
I have no idea why the heck you are getting downvoted, It has to be either trolls or ppl who like genrushing and hate balance

I'm very used to it, I think it's trolls and frankly it's a consequence of downvotes existing here again. They need to go, they don't foster useful discussion. They offer nothing and are used to ratio and "own" people instead of their intended use.

Agred, downvotes give ppl redditbrain, never be redditbrain

I dont like this years blood event at all.
Last year with the orbs and the special situational abilities in range(killer lunge, survivor quiet suppressed blood) was much more fun.
That being said this mode doesnt highlight anything about "gen rushing"
This mode highlights the devs cant make anything interesting for this event.
Dont worry about downvotes and upvotes so much. They dont mean anything on the forum.2 -
I'm not sure how it doesn't highlight that generator speed is an issue when it LITERALLY shows that Killers really do need gen perks to stand a chance in the game at all most times. They took everyone's generator perks, tools and items. It shows how badly weaker Killers really do need gen perks to stand a chance against a decent team that wants to focus gens. That's a definite issue for everyone.

Yea I mean you are describing coordinated teams.
Has nothing to do with the blood event.
Thats just coordinated teams.
You dont need gen slow down on several killers actually it all depends on the addons and what killer it is.2 -
The issue is that this event exacerbates why coordinated teams are a problem for most Killers. There's a reason most Killers especially low mobility and M1 Killers run at least one gen perk.

Yea I mean meyers contradicts that right there

Myers is a bit of an exception because he can one shot, but even then he still hasn't got much mobility. It definitely depends on his addons, yes, but I feel like even then that doesn't help too terribly much.
I do see your point, Chuck, I just am not so sure I agree with it entirely.
