So... sound is bugged again, isn't it?
Sound functioning or not was always a bit inconsistent in this game because, from time to time, it gets bugged and suddenly you can't hear people just because of a tiny object in front of them, and it happens so often that it's hard to realize the last time the bug started or ended. And since the FNAF chapter it seems it happened again.
Come on, there is no way it's just me, since this chapter released, there are times I chase a survivor around a rock tile or a jungle gym and suddenly I'm not even sure if they are still running around the tile or not, because I can see the scratch marks, but not hear the footsteps or the breathing at all, even though the loop is small or the walls are thin enough that I should still be able to hear them. It happens even when they are injured! Just now I had a match where I briefly got confused and really thought an injured survivor had left one of the smallest loops in Gideon Meat Plant after a vault, (the one at the edge of the lower floor, between two pilars), but couldn't see their scratch marks or blood… and then I realized they were still there, they were just behind one of the pilars, but I could hear NOTHING at all even though I was extremely close.
And following survivors after being blinded is a little inconsistent now. There are times I can still follow their sound normally, and there are others it feels like I'm deafened too and have to guess where they must be going (even when they are not trying to juke me or anything, I can still see them running away and the scratch marks they left after the blind is over).

Is it in the event? Any chance they used quiet mode from the invite? It also affects breathing

This one match I mentioned in Gideon Meat Plant was in standard mode, not on Twisted Masquerade, so no invitation abilities. It's been happening all the time too, way too much to be just quiet mode. Just now I had another match while I tested it against an injured bot on a loop in Father Campbell's Chapel, I remained walking around the loop for a LONG time, more than quiet mode can even last. And most of the time I couldn't hear her at all, unless she was in line of sight. Sometimes I could also hear a grunt of pain very briefly and suddenly would hear nothing anymore, and I think it is because of the little gap in the wall that kind of tile has.
