Questions about the Grimoire's "Change Your Fate" Concept

So in the most recent Grimoire pages just put out today, it says that we can "Change our Fate"… but what does that mean exactly? Does that just mean like, for example, that voting a Chimeric option (like Beastly) for killer would completely overturn the last vote of Otherworldy? Or would it be more like a combination of the two (an Otherworldy Beastly killer)?

Just because I don't think I really like the idea of COMPLETLY ignoring the previous vote, but I really like the idea of combining the two concepts together to make a more unique killer.

I guess to explain my reasoning a little bit further, having it completely override means this will be a VERY bad design and will result in a bunch of constant flipflops.

Chimeric got 27% of the votes. Otherworldly got almost 35%. HOWEVER people who voted for Otherworldly will now be split between the three options given for Otherworldly. There are only two options for Chimeric, which means the people who voted for Chimeric will only be split between the two. This is even more skewed if you consider the fact that the people who voted for Chimeric voted that way because they like the concept of werewolf, which means a lot of people will be voting for Beastly.

(Also side-note, can we have the option to change our votes this time like on the previous Grimoire?)

Oh yeah I understand that, but does it completely override the previous vote or does it combine it with the previous vote?

For example, since Otherworldly won the first time, and let's say that Beastly (an option from Chimeric) won this time. Would it combine the two, so we would have an Otherworldly Beastly killer now? Or does it just go back to being Chimeric?

I would HEAVILY prefer if it combined the two instead of completely removing the previous vote. I don't think completely overriding is a good idea and would leave a lot of people unhappy (including me).

It would override the previous, changing to a Chimeric Killer with the new force controlling it.

Gotcha. In that case, lemme explain the stats on this that makes me a bit worried.

Chimeric got 27% of the votes. Otherworldly got almost 35%.

Otherworldy has three options listed, meanwhile Chimeric has two options listed for it. Let's now say that the people who vote for Otherworldly are now split evenly between the three Otherworldly options, meanwhile Chimeric is divided between the two Chimeric options.

Chimeric now wins because of the sole fact it has only two options listed for it, with 13.5% given to each of the two options and Otherworldly being split at around 11% for each option. The majority who voted for Otherworldly now loses, despite winning the majority on the previous vote, and now the minority wins, SOLELY because of how the options were structured.

This seems a bit extreme to expect that votes will happen evenly between options, but actually it probably makes things a bit more rigged towards Chimeric because I expect the people who voted for that option want a Werewolf killer of some sort, which means votes will lean HEAVILY towards Beastly, meanwhile Otherworldly is still split between the three options listed for it.

NOW lets look into the future at the next vote. Let's say that Beastly wins this vote (because I'm guessing it probably will looking at the reasoning above), and let's say an Otherworldly option such as Divine gets second place. Now all the people who voted for Otherworldly are going to pile into one or two of the Divine options, and the three options listed for Beastly are going to be split again. So an Otherworldly option wins. BECAUSE of how things are structured, we are just going to be left with constant flip-flopping of the minority winning and the majority losing.

Combining the two winning votes instead (Into something like Otherworldly Beastly) would mean that everyone is happy instead of completely changing tracks.

I don’t want to assume so someone correct me if I’m wrong:

It selects the two most voted for options on survivor and killer, eliminating all other other choices from the pool.

Now you whether you want change your vote or choose between the two most selected and their “sub options”

I imagine from there it will branch down into another “change your fate” until it’s narrowed down to solidify a final popular vote.

so like as an example next one will be like choose between this sub touched or sub apocalyptic survivor.

like playoffs almost if you’ve ever filled out a tournament sheet to guess whose going to win as it narrows down the team but instead of you just losing they let you continue picking between the winners.

update I see your concerned with the diffs of percentages due to uneven choice for fair shakes

Yeah, I was concerned with the percentages. I guess if things are really as fluid with this Grimoire as they are making it out to be, I don't see why we couldn't combine the previous vote with this one to make something like Otherworldly Beastly instead of just completely overriding things and making it so that this whole Grimoire thing becoming a constantly flip flop of the majority losing and the minority winning.

they could do a redo and make an otherworldly chimera option for the third chimera option so the percentage weight distribution is even. And same for survivor throw an extra one in for touched

Like for survivor I jumped ship from post apocalyptic to one of the touched options but you’re right they’ll be weighted differently because one theme has 3 subs and the other has 2 subs naturally putting whatever is 2 subbed at a percentage advantage.

One more positive comment, please: I like the little arrows at the bottom of each page, because you can always keep track of which steps you've completed, and that's incredibly exciting. It would also be nice to see a timeline. As far as I know, we're in week 3 as far as the votes are concerned, and at the end, when everything is finished, it will be even more exciting to see how it all started and how long it took. The additional homepage is great. Unfortunately my first Survivor vote didn't work out, but I'm happy with the Killer. I've now decided on Cosmic. Goes well with a spider 😊

You're looking at this wrong. This isn't a continuation of the last vote. This is an entirely new vote with five new options (two of which happen to be from the second choice of the last vote.)

You're also forgetting that 40% of the voters from last time don't have their first choice represented at all. For all you know, most of the people who voted for "Mundane," for instance, could have wanted a werewolf or whatever as their second choice.

EDIT: To be more clear, what I mean is that while "Otherworldy" may have won the last vote, it may not be the most popular individual choice. Some may be looking for an alien. Others, Cthulu.

If, like you said, Beastly wins this vote and Divine places second, we'd get five more choices. Three flavors of Beastly, and two flavors of Divine. Most of the people voting Divine are picturing some beautiful angel-like killer with wings and a sword. What if that isn't the case? What if the two options don't follow the picture in people's heads?

The point is, people's votes may change as things get more specific. I like that we're not being locked into an otherworldly killer.
