So if Franklin's is killed for Killer...
Doesn't it seem fair to kill Boil Over for Survivor?
It too is a perk that is more annoying, toxic and plain frustrating than it is effective, with a myriad of issues that make the perk I would say more unhealthy than anything Franklin's did (and that's usually the justificaction for the Franklin's nerf).
If we can effevtively nerf a perk that is extremely annoying and unfun for Survivor to near uselessness, seems only fair to severely nerf the perk that is the king of it for Killer as well, that actually has legitimate unmanageable scenarios for killer.

then….what?

Sorry, phone lagged and read a whole bunch of inputs that resulted in a premature send xD
Thankfully you seem you can edit posts, but not comments atm 😅

Boil Over is fine.
Furthermore, a nerf or change on one side does not necessitate such an action on the other.
This just seems like an Us vs Them post.

Me who uses franklins and weave to punish bully squads instead of lightborn to annoy them further.

They already killed it years ago despite adding hooks to every possible upper floor, nook, and cranny, and making them respawn.

its less "us vs them" and more like "equalevent exchange". you want something, you need to give something in return.

Just ask to revert Franklins, and they should also revert Streetwise, keys and maps
Everyone wins

Fair, I will admit to some personal frustration, but it is deliberately a little US vs. Them, because I still disagree with the overnerf of Franklin's, and already not particularly strong perk nerfed into mostly irrelevance.
However despite it being raised multiple times, discussion on it tends to devolve in to the same go nowhere "good riddance, perk was a problem" discussions that Skull Merchant got, and swept under the rug.
And I absolutely disagree that Boil Over is fine: -
- It disproportionately affects controller players more than PC players, due to controllers reduced ability to turn the camera effectively.
- It is extremely annoying and unfun to face, and is usually only effective when being used by bully SWFs.
- andandanIt is used to exploit a number of maps like Badham Preschool and Ironworks of Misery, where it is literally impossible for the killer to hook.
All the complaints about Franklin's from Survivor side are just as applicable and more so for Boil Over on Killer side.

I don't think an unrelated nerf on the opposing side should be used as justification for this.
Like, I agree Boil Over should be reworked, but it shouldn't have anything to do with Franklins, it should just be because Boil Over itself is an unhealthy perk (and it is).

I still think Boil Over should have never been buffed. Its original version was fine as it was.

Just as an olive branch, I do apologise for the hypocritical nature of the original post ladies and gents...
I panicked a little when I fat fingered send, and had to write a much shorter and less well constructed post than I normally would... though I can (and have) edit it now, damage was already done.
Cheers for the ego check 😅

An equivalent would be a survivor perk that removed killer add-ons and forced them to go back and pick them up if they wanted to use them.

Well, that sounds accurate, but it falls short for a few observations:
- Killer add-ons affect the entire killer team, Survivor items affect 1/4 of the survivor team. So a equivalent survivor perk would be 4 times more impactful.
- Survivor items are limited in charges inherently, whereas killer add-ons are permanent. It is entirely possible for a Survibor to spend the value of the items before Franklin's even comes into play, whereas for an equivalent Survivor perk, that would never be the case.
- There are 4 survivors, meaning if an item is dropped, another Survivor can pick the item and use it in their allies stead, the killer can not, only they would be able to go back and pick it up themselves, something that would be highly devastating to the killer to have to taketh time to do.
- Franklin's can be countered by simply putting the items down somewhere useful and only picking it up when needed. A killer cannot put their add-ons down.
So I don't think that argument is as solid as people tend to think it is.
