Idea: QOL for many Killers whose basekit feels outdated in the current game
Hello, I’m a player from the Asia Server (SEA). I play both Killer and Survivor.
I have some ideas for buffs, nerfs, and QOL improvements for several killers that feel outdated in the current game. These are my personal ideas, after some thought and consideration, which I believe would improve killer QOL without being unfair or overly oppressive toward survivors.
The Trapper
The Trapper has a major problem: he wastes too much time setting up his bear traps, and he doesn’t even start the game with all of them in his hands. This feels extremely outdated in today’s game—especially when compared to newer killers.
- Basekit : Starts the Trial with all bear traps.
- Trapper Sack (Rework): While Trapper is not holding any bear traps, gain 3% Haste until picking up a bear trap.
- Iridescent Stone (Buff): Automatically resets and arms a random disarmed Bear Trap every 15 seconds (was 30).
The Hillbilly
I barely play him at all because his chainsaw’s turn rate is so hard to control (Oni’s is much easier). Not to mention that first 1 second before you can turn the camera in real-time.
Hillbilly has a very high skill floor and skill ceiling. Since I don’t play him much, I can’t say too much, but at least making movement speed while charging the chainsaw = 4.0 m/s (was 3.68 m/s) could be a good QOL change (since many other killers also move 4.0 m/s while charging their power).
The Nurse (Mini Nerf)
Plaid Flannel (add-on) : Unlocks the ability to see the landing zone of the Blink.
- Move this feature to her Basekit, but make it so survivors can also see the Blink landing zone.
I don’t know if this kind of nerf would completely ruin The Nurse or not. Many people might think that The Nurse doesn’t need to be nerfed that much.
But hear me out. I’m a player from the Asia Server (SEA), and The Nurse is extremely popular in my region. Most Nurse players here are very strong, strong to the point that they can slug almost every game (downing all 4 survivors before hooking them one by one).
The Hag
She’s very strong often placed in A or S tier lists, which I agree with. But Hag is a niche killer with a unique playstyle, requiring patience and not fitting everyone’s taste. Low skill floor, but very high skill ceiling.
As a small basekit improvement, I think survivors should gain a slight hindered status effect after the Phantasm Trap activate by survivor.
The Executioner (Pyramid Head)
Overall, he’s quite good, but he’s not very popular because of his sluggishness. It takes too long for him to drive his blade into the ground, and too long to raise it again when canceling his ability. Everything feels slow and disrupts the flow of a chase. On top of that, activating Punishment of the Damned is also too slow, giving survivors too much time to react.
I would like his animations for planting the blade into the ground and canceling (raising the blade again) to be smoother and faster.
As for his current power, it’s in a pretty satisfying state after the complete rework of his add-ons.
But for my personal QOL suggestion, I’d like to see an additional penalty when survivors step on Torment Trails. Right now, killers only gain Killer Instinct. I think stepping on a Trail should also apply a 4% Hindered status effect, so survivors feel a real consequence and must be more careful.
The Spirit
Spirit is strong, but her basekit feels clunky. Her power Yamaoka’s Haunting charges too slowly, her movement speed during Phase-Walk is slow, duration is short, and cooldown is long.
She just needs a simple buff faster charge speed, faster Phase-Walk movement, shorter cooldown, etc.
The Ghost Face
Another killer I barely play. He’s weak due to multiple factors maps, add-ons, perks. And with the current map offering changes (only ~20% chance of getting your chosen map), Ghost Face suffers even more.
The Pig
- Bring back the ability to see Jigsaw Box auras. and she will strong better than current patch.
- While charging Ambush Attack, The Pig shouldn’t be forced to stop moving. She should still move slowly, like The Wraith while uncloaking (1.6 m/s). The Pig should function the same instead of freezing completely while charging.
The Good Guy
He’s been nerfed a lot since release.
I think he should be able to Scamper while in Hidey-Ho Mode without needing Slice & Dice.
If that’s too much, then at least.
- Make Hidey-Ho Mode unlimited duration (like Ghost Face or Pig stealth). The cooldown would start only after deactivation, missed basic attacks, or using Slice & Dice.
- OR restore the faster Slice & Dice movement speed he had at launch.
The Unknown
Increase Blast Area radius on impact to 4 m (was 2.25 m).
(Or alternatively, put this into an add-on that increases the radius of Blast Area by +2 m.)
Add-on (rework) : Increase the Weakened state duration by 1–2 seconds, similar Thick Tar add-ons to The Artist’s that extend time of Repel Swarmed.
Airborne projectile hit : Hindered -8% for 5 seconds (was -6% for 3 seconds). Or at least add one of the following changes:
For me, the Hindered status effect from an airborne projectile hit is currently too weak. the percentage is too low and the duration is only 3 seconds. It should either last longer or have its hindered percentage increased, so that getting hit by an airborne projectile actually feels impactful and worthwhile.
The Dredge
The problem with The Dredge is the number of lockers on maps. On some maps, he’s extremely strong because there are lockers everywhere, but on others there are so few that teleporting isn’t really helpful.
And he’s actually very easy to counter. just keep looking behind you while killer chase you and watch for the hand-raising animation. Once The Dredge disappears from behind you, you can assume he teleported to a locker ahead in the direction you’re running. If you simply turn back and run away, you’ll be fine. because The Dredge cannot cancel a teleport mid-way until he reaches a locker.
I think he should be able to cancel his teleport mid-way, but suffer a short hindered effect when doing so. such movement speed 1.36m/s 3 seconds while cancel his teleport.
