New Myers is extremely disappointing and borderline useless. A revert would be a genuine buff.

I've played quite a few hours of new Myers today and no matter what build or combination of addons or even trying to go back to "old Myers" using Fragrant Tuft, literally every game is just the world's biggest uphill battle unless the Survivors just start throwing and spoonfeeding me kills.

To start, Myers had his basekit 4.4m/s stripped away from Tier 1 (for literally no reason?) other than "you're supposed to switch to Pursuer for map traversal", but how in the world will I know if I'm near a Survivor that I can sneak up on without some kind of information perk? Also, stalking takes way longer now because of his severely reduced stalk range and the removal of the distance stalk rate modifier. You say you want to encourage Myers to be more stealthy, but you remove the two things he had added/buffed literally not just a few months ago that were not only thematically empowering but also helped make him feel better to play and actually gave him a reason to sneak around the map? So now the only viable strategy for building stalk is just walking up to a Survivor, getting 2 feet from their face and just looking at them for 90 years until your Evil Incarnate is ready, at which point they probably already made a window or a pallet. While we're talking about stalking, it's probably a good time to bring up that standing still whilst stalking is practically useless and is usually outright detrimental to Myers because of how close he needs to get to stalk now, if he stands still, the Survivor will just break line of sight instantly. It's honestly better to keep moving so you can retain line of sight instead of standing still at all.

Not to mention you can't even re-enter Stalker Mode once your bar is full, so you can't even do proper ambushes on people now (which was literally the one thing he had going for him) because of the stupid CS:GO knife inspect animation he needs to do everytime he wants to enter Evil Incarnate, but Dead Rabbit and Monitor & Abuse were also nerfed to both be percentage based instead of meters based this patch. Also if you're switching to Pursuer for map traversal (aka gaining a 24m terror radius) there's a pretty decent chance the Survivors are going to hear a bit of your terror radius before you switch back and then they just pre-run 90 miles away and you're just left standing at their halfway completed generator with your dick in your hand staring blankly at their scratch marks running to the other edge of the map because literally everyone is running Sprint Burst at this point.

Now for Pursuer Mode, I have no idea what is even the point of this mode unless the entire team just refuses to heal. The only time I ever get any amount of Pursuer Mode value is when I switch over quickly just to get my basekit Brutal Strength or I'm chasing a Survivor that I already injured from Stalker Mode, which at that point, why am I not just playing Wraith with Shadow Dance who does everything Pursuer Mode does but better and he becomes mostly invisible?

Evil Incarnate easily has to be the biggest downgrade of this patch out of everything though. Evil Incarnate only lasts 40 seconds, meaning 9 times out of 10 your entire power gauge is pretty much going to be entirely gone by the time you get your first down, hook them, and then get to another Survivor. Especially considering "good" chases for Myers typically last about 20 seconds on the absolute shortest end. This is bafflingly bad, Myers always had the upside of having enough Tier 3 duration to at least down 1 person, hook them, and still have about 10-25 seconds of Tier 3 to work with by the time he found another Survivor. It wasn't great and it was relatively easy to outlast as a Survivor if he wasn't running duration addons, but it was still something.

Speaking of, let's talk about his duration addons. Or should I say, his complete lack of duration addons except for ONE addon. Before we touch on Hair Bow, I should mention I know Judith's Tombstone refreshes the duration for every hook, but you shouldn't be forced to run a Visceral addon every game on a Killer that's already one of the worst Killers in the game. So, Hair Bow. Hair Bow increases Evil Incarnate's duration to 60 seconds (yay!) at the cost of having 20% slower stalk rate. (not yay!) This effectively kills the addon and any potential gains you'd get from running this addon because it's going to take 20% longer to get your Evil Incarnate to begin with, which honestly probably means you're actually going to start losing time efficiency instead of gaining any because of how long it takes to begin with. Why is a Killer as bad as Myers getting addons that have drawbacks at all?? I thought we did away with this completely stupid design philosophy of non-visceral Killer addons having drawbacks years ago, but I guess not.

And of course, I can't not mention the complete thematic disaster that is Slaughtering Strike. Not only does this ability just not make sense for Myers thematically to have at all, (if anything it's extremely funny and takes away from his character rather than adding anything to it) but it's also one of the worst abilities in the game! For starters, the turn rate on Slaughtering Strike is EXTREMELY limited for genuinely no reason at all other than this had to be an internal bet to see how bad we could feasibly make Myers compared to his old iteration. Remember, Myers can only turn 150 degrees but Oni gets 540 AND he moves faster AND he gets his power easier AND his general power activation and use is severely less detrimental and annoying AND he can feasibly down more than one Survivor per power use! Also, Myers' dash is so slow both to activate and while in use that it's not even worth using unless you're practically backrevving somebody! Died 2020, born 2025, welcome back pre-rework Bubba. Not to mention Slaughtering Strike is so short and slow that it's not even a guaranteed down at a loop if you have pallet control most of the time. Anyone with a single functioning braincell will see you slowly go one way and then they just run the other way to the pallet and drop it in your face. The dash isn't even long or fast enough to do a fake out on somebody like you can with Pig. (Not to mention you can't even turn enough to do a fake out!)

This rework is a complete disaster in every regard and frankly anyone who worked on this is completely out of touch with not just the game itself and Myers' previously very dedicated playerbase, but also Halloween as a franchise and Michael Myers as a character. Nobody played Myers because he was "good." People played Myers because it felt like they were playing as Michael Myers. There is nothing that is salvageable or redeeming about this rework at all, everything that Myers had going for him was taken away and he only got nerfs in return.

My feedback on the Myers rework?

Revert the entire thing and just keep new Judith's Tombstone and Tombstone Piece. Everything else in this rework was a complete and utter waste of everyone's time and resources. Do better.

One of the most used things from old Myers was mixing the dead rabbit addon with monitor and abuse to keep him at a terror radius nearing 5 meters. This basically gave him discount undetectable on what was his old 'Pursuer Mode' and EVEN then myers was still on the bottom list power wise. I really don't understand why pursuer and stalker are separate when both old Myers and Ghostface had 4.6m/s stealth and were STILL bad killers.

As much as i like the idea of swapping between pursuer and stalker conceptually, just like the old doctor, it feels legitimately overbloated and clunky to navigate or get any value out of, and Myers would not be anywhere near too strong by just merging stalker and pursuer's strengths into a single mode, as well as giving him old tier 3 instead of whatever this current one is.

You didn't even mention Jewelry Box.

16 METERS less range? For an eh bonus like that?

Personally, I think this rework is salvageable, and Pursuer Mode is really good (it's lowkey better to just stay in it and don't stalk at all), but the Tier 3 needs improvements.

    I liked Myers.

Past tense. I do not enjoy dash/speed killers on console. They're not fun. They feel like clunky garbage. It really really sucks to have lost one of the few killers who worked smoothly on console and who I found fun to play as. Standing menacingly far off in the shadows like a creepy slasher movie stalker was perfection. Walking at normal speed in DbD is something I can kinda sorta handle after all this time, so I could handle tier 3: tier 3 is a normal chase but with fewer steps, something that could actually be really handy on Switch where frame drops meant injuring a survivor often resulted in the survivor disappearing, breaking chase and resetting before I'd see them again (of course, if there were frame drops when I went from 99% to tier 3, that would go from an instant down to an instant loss, too, but there's only so much one can do).

As survivor, I enjoyed going against Myers and his add-ons. Except the Tombstone Piece, which felt cheap, but everything else was cool, including Judith's Tombstone. I miss Myers. He was probably my favorite killer to see. A lot of my most fun times in DbD were against Myers.

I want old Myers back. It feels very unlikely BHVR will revert him, though, since the change has already gone live. They turned an iconic killer into generic slop, what a damn shame. The game is less much less enjoyable for this.
