Killer seeing hook states feedback
Im not sure if this was intended or not, but I've been able to see hook states as a killer. It's been a significant positive change for me, because now I can far more easily spread out hooks on matches where survivors are having a difficult time.
Essentially, im an underdog fan, so I mostly focus on killers such as ghostie, slinger, pig, and so on. This essentially means having to go in with your A game, especially when many of your matches are facing off against p100 4 stacks. Those weaker killers have little room for error at experienced gameplay levels. The downside is that sometimes matchmaking gets weird, and you end up going overkill on some survivors who actually AREN'T playing sweaty. Im not out to make for a miserable experience for anyone, and since the patch, I've been able to quickly see with the UI between which survivors to chase or to avoid hooking if I have the opportunity to hook. This lets me spread out the hooks evenly and delay player elimination to give them some breathing room without flat out stopping gameplay for a while. While I still almost always give last hatch, seeing the hook states has made "backing off the pressure" a lot more fluid while maintaining gameplay. Before this, I would have to just afk until they catch up on some gens, but now I can ensure hooks are being distributed evenly and avoid accidentally player elimination.
If this was intended, this is a great boon for the kinds of who prefer good sportsmanship over winning at all costs. Thank you!

Its intended. This with the Off the Record nerf. This wasnt supposed to be an anti-tunnel update…this was secretly a pro-tunnel update all along. Oh boi oh boi did these devs sure bamboozle us.
As killer i also like it because I dont tunnel and often let ppl live so this helps me remember who i should not hook. But lets be real…its gonna be mostly for tunneling.

Maybe, but i dont feel it's likely. People who tunnel only have to keep track of a single person, and no need for an UI to do so. Tunneling has been rampant without this feature for some time because tunnelers aren't keeping track of 4 people's hook states - just 1. It might increase opportunistic tunneling, instead, but it will also reduce accidental tunneling/eliminations as well. I feel it's a net positive.

I mean, it's useless for hard tunneling.
It can be used in end game to find survivor who is dead on hook, but that's not always going to be tunneling.
