Ping should be visible for survivors

Dead by daylight is a nuanced and carefully balanced game when it comes to crucial mechanics, such as the distance of a loop to get to a pallet or window. These fine numbers determine whether these parts of the game are mind-gameable and to what degree, or whether they are just completely safe, removing the interactive play around them.

However with that fine balancing and precise length of each loop, 1 thing increasingly becomes more important: Reaction time. The faster you can react to a mind-gameable loop, the better your chances for survivor, but also the more balanced the loop, the more crucial the reaction time.

But that's where another problem sets in. The more balanced these loops, the more crucial something else becomes: PING

Ping is the delay between where you see the killer and where the killer actually is. This can change carefully balanced check-spots for loops drastically based on this information; more ping means you have to vault earlier, and predict/gamble more on what the killer is going to do

Since there is no way around ping, as it's a technical limitation, there is something we can do to fairly integrate it into the game for survivors: Simply display your ping in the top right of the screen between them and the killer, semi transparent, or give people the option to. That way when they go check-spot for loops, they'll be able to live-check this crucial data without having to jump to the menu just to see it, adding more skill-expression and removing some of the pains around this technical limitation

Although this doesn't prevent higher ping spikes from forcing survivors to gamble more; it will tell them how much distance they needed to vault that window, giving them a clearer perspective on whether they needed to pre-run or had the luxury of reacting to the killer more for tight situations, and many more situations like it, putting back the skill in the hands of the survivor, even with the technical limitation in place!

Give the reaction-based role the information they need and give survivors live access to the increasingly more important data they need in an increasingly better balanced looping game; their PING ❤️
