Gameplay Suggestion: Lore-Accurate Mobility Mechanic for Michael Myers – “Shadow Lurk”

Dear Behaviour Interactive Team, I am an avid Dead by Daylight player who greatly appreciates the balance between lore and gameplay that defines your Killers. I wanted to respectfully share a concept that I believe could enhance Michael Myers’ gameplay experience while staying faithful to his iconic, slow-but-inevitable presence from the Halloween films.

The idea is called “Shadow Lurk.”

Concept:

When The Shape is not in the direct line of sight of any Survivor, he gains a brief, silent mobility advantage—such as a subtle movement speed increase or the ability to quietly reposition through obstacles. This would simulate the way Michael Myers seems to vanish and reappear without ever running, preserving his unnerving and deliberate nature while improving his ability to control the map.

Why It Fits:

  • It aligns closely with his lore: Michael never sprints; he simply and inexplicably appears where his victims least expect.
  • It adds depth and tension to his gameplay without compromising his core identity.
  • The mechanic could be balanced with a cooldown or line-of-sight condition to ensure fair counterplay and maintain game balance.

  • Thank you very much for taking the time to read this suggestion. I understand the level of care and testing that goes into balancing every Killer, and I truly appreciate your continued work in refining and expanding Dead by Daylight.

Warm regards,

Anonymous

I don't think you should be posting your entire God given name on the Internet, friend.

But I like this idea more than the rework they went with, even if it's derivative of the Myers game.
