Pallets used to pull you to the side of the pallet you were running toward when beginning the pallet toss animation. This could give you a small burst of speed to get away from an attack and get a killer stun. You can still get a bit of a vacuum from the other side now. It as allows you to fake like you're going for another loop so you can assure a stun when the killer goes to chase.

May the vacuum burn in oblivion where it belongs. One of the most important changes in the game by far.

The pallet vacuum was something that was implemented to stop all reduce instances of people getting stuck in pallets.
So when running through a pallet it would essentially just teleport you to the other side.
As a killer this was very annoying because it meant situations where you should have rightly got the hit the survivor just basically got teleported away and you got stunned.
As a survivor it instilled a very bad habit of people overestimating how much they could loop a pallet because the vacuum would normally bailed them out of mistakes where they would have gotten hit. This meant that when the pallet vacuum got removed a lot of survivors realised that they were getting hit very frequently because there was so used to going through one or two extra loops because the vacuum was a get out of jail free card.

I’ve seen it but never experienced it :P

It was very unfair. If anyone says they exist anymore, know that they're not lying however. There is a vacuum, it's just much less than it used to be and is now on the side of the pallet you are.
