Don't get caught.
If you do get caught, don't die on the hook immediately. Make him wait the full 2 minutes.

Okay I know that you probably hate all the answers people are giving you up at the top but there's not much you can really do and can be done about this.
I know you hate the fact that you get camped got camped but if you want to punish the Killer...
For the love of God don't die and give up immediately.
It's more punishing him to sit there and do nothing and stare at you then be useful and go out and Hunt other survivors.7 -

But for real, as the survivor, it sucks. Personally I'm confident enough in my ability to down survivors quickly enough that I just leave the hook 99% of the time. Which in my experience is better as it means people die faster and they feel pressured as I'm almost always going to be on them afterwards. Plus less people on gens is always good.
Did he camp the whole game? Because if he did, it's your team's fault as a whole. Campers only succeed if the survivors allow it, as if he's camping the first guy, three gens should pop before the first guy dies, and you should be just about halfway done on the last two by the time the killer can find anyone.5 -

The developers? Nothing. It's a dev intended and encouraged strategy. It's not generally a highly rewarding strategy though, except when overly alturistic survivors reward it.

In the situation on the screen, two guys are dead, you on a hook. If killer camps your teammate has 2 full minutes to look for the hatch when killer camps you. just be mate. steal the killer 2 minutes and spend them to your team. 2 Mins are three gens in a perfect situation (other three alive, everyone on a gen)

I second most of what's said above: be a good teammate, don't try to unhook yourself and don't go die - killer will suffer for the loooong time wasted. In fact, if your teammates are good enough, you may still be saved, preferably with Borrowed Time, and the loser ends up with zero kills and a pip down.
Gotta say though, 99% of killers don't camp, except when gates are powered/open, with one on the hook and three alive and well, in which case camping is often the prudent thing to do.3 -

Hi guys i'm playing this game for a while now and want to explain something to crying survivors ( sorry about my english though ).My main killer is the TRAPPER not the IDIOT. To stay close to hanged survivor is part of a fair strategy. I personally never face camp. I'm hooking a dude or a chick, set my traps then hide near the hook ( but not too much for survivors get a chance to unhook see? I'm not a d**k ) it's called a TRAP using BAIT. If survivors are smart enough they can unhook their friend if they are stupid they get caught. That's the game.Killer primary goal is to kill survivors. And confirm that kill by staying not far to the hook is a strategy. If survivors don't like to die just don't get caught or play a smarter way. Or maybe this game is not for you.And too me real cancer in this game are survivors body blocking hook and tea bagging when doors are opens. They should add a way to punish them like to can grab them or to block the escape when killer enter the exit area. There is 2 exit so killer cannot block both letting well playing survivors to leave. This idea is maybe not perfect but with some adjustments it could be a great way to punish trolls.Once again sorry about my english, and have a good slaughter party anyway1

camping in general ? Not a problem since it's easily countered by doing gens.

Nothing. It gives all other survivors an advantage, and you can just stare back and chill there for 2 mins making the killer waste his time before realising that camping was a big mistake.
Alternatively, it's also not a problem because two survivors (if they're available) can distract + manage to get you off. So, it's just a waiting game and it was never a problem, just annoying.
