What Rift-Related Data Do You Want to See?
As most of you know, I created a survey after the first Rift ended to gather data from the community related to Rift completion. The survey currently has almost 1000 responses recorded, and I'm in the process of going through the data and preparing it for public sharing.
The main goal of the survey was to generate a pool of data to which everyone in the community had access, from which to draw conclusions about the first Rift. To that end, I wanted to ask you guys what kind of questions specifically you want to see answered. Examples might include, "What percentage of players were able to complete the Rift?", "How does everyone's daily playtime compare to how far they were able to progress?" or "What was the most common reason given for not purchasing the Rift pass?"
Of course, there will be some questions I don't have the data to answer. So for reference, here is a list of all the data I do have:
- How many respondents were and were not able to complete the Rift
- What tier was reached by respondents who didn't complete the Rift
- Whether respondents were satisfied with their progress, and why
- Total playtime of all respondents while the Rift was open
- How many challenges each respondent completed
- Which roles each respondent completed challenges for
- How many tiers respondents had unlocked before the Rift opened
- How many respondents bought the premium pass, and why
- How many Rift tiers respondents bought with auric cells
- How far respondents had progressed before buying the pass
- Whether respondents regretted buying the pass, and why
- Average frequency of play and length of each play session, which when combined indicate average daily playtime

I really want to see how far people made it on the Rift, free or premium.

Which challenges was done in 1-2 trys? And how many player finished them this way?
Sometimes I was reading the challenge and thought: "Nope, I will never finish this." And then I got it in the first or second try. But it was really luck. Would be interresting to see the lucky (or fast) challenges of the rift.
If I have a second question:
Which challenges needed the most trys to finish it?

Apologies if it wasn't clear - I do plan to share all of the data I've gathered, as far as practicality allows. Unfortunately, there's a huge amount of it - over 1000 people responded, and there were 15 questions in the survey, some of which weren't simple multiple choice, so essentially there are about 15-20,000 pieces of individual data, and I can't fit every single one into a forum post.
I will put everything that I reasonably can into that post, which will include statistical data on all the points I listed above, along with extra graphs comparing relationships between data sets that I find interesting. What I'm asking here is if there are any pieces of information that you guys are particularly interested in, so that I can make sure that everything people want to know is included in the post 😊

Was there an increase in disconnects during this period?
Basement builds are not fun for survivors but there was a number of basement challenges in this period.
Likewise constant flashlight blinding is not fun particularly for newer killers yet we had challenges for this also.
As both sides had challenges encouraging gameplay styles the other sides hates, did this lead to an increase in disconnects? And will there be less of these kind of challenges in future tomes.

That would be really interesting information to see, I agree. Unfortunately, I don't have any data related to specific challenges, only to how many challenges each respondent completed overall. So I won't be able to include that in the final post, as much as I would like to 🙁

Multiple choice questions in a pie chart or a graph form would be amazing. For the rest, you could make a list of the "most used words" if you would want to spend the time. Otherwise, the data for the multiple choices alone is enough for me.

I'd love to be able to answer that - it's something I'm interested in knowing myself - but unfortunately, since I'm not a developer, I don't have access to that information.

Keywords could be interesting. I'm thinking about doing some graphs on things like the most common reasons for buying the premium pass, or the most common reasons people regretted buying the pass.

I want to see this:
Those who purchased the rift pass and who completed all Tomes fully earning the Rift Free (technically..)
Those who purchased the pass but purchased tiers. For ($80)
And those who bought the rift pass got to the Middle and said this grind is too much lets just buy tiers to finally end this misery. [Did like 35 Tiers Free, then bought the other 35 with $$]

its was hard to complete the survey tbh, by not fault of your own though, i played the game on and off because it was a huge grind when lobby times got as long as they did, without wait times it might not of been so bad which is why this rift will be worse due to even longer wait times. either way id wanna see the total hours and how many challenges they completed

Sorry you had difficulties with the survey. I do agree that queue times probably played a big part in the inflation of the overall time taken to complete the Rift. And I'll definitely be including your requests in the data post! 😊

Sure thing! They're taking a little while because the data entry is quite time-consuming and life stuff has been getting in the way, but I'm definitely still working on them and will let you know when they're ready 👍️
