Object of Obsession. How would we change it?
Title.
If Object was to get changed what would you guys want it changed to?

It either needs a massive cooldown or an activation requirement. And it definitely shouldn't be immediately available at the start of the match.

Interesting. So maybe for 60 seconds after every unhook or so?

Yeah something like that. I never use it so I don't really have a good idea on when/how it should be available. I just know that being able to see the killer anytime you want is OP.

Standing within the killer's terror radius while not in a chase for 60 seconds activates object of obsession.
Once object of obsession is activated, press the Active Ability Button while standing and motionless.
After activating object of obsession, you become the killer's obsession.
All survivors see the aura of the killer while inside the killer's terror radius for the next 30 seconds.
Your aura is revealed to the killer and the killer's aura is revealed to you for the next 30 seconds.
-------------------
What this does.
- It makes it so that you have to earn the effect of object of obsession
- Object of Obsession is good for SWFs while being bad in solo play. This makes it so that the benefit is the same for SWFs and Solo
- Just like the current object of obsession the purpose of the perk is to draw the attention away from your team mates to yourself. This is why I've given team mates the tools to loop killers better while the affect is active.

it is but also makes you really exposed, it's one of those perks that can spoil you if you re not super skilled, also depends on map.
If you end up at mcmillian and you have this perk you're f****d

Make it where we can see the stealth killers like before

When outside the killer’s terror radius, you see the aura of the killer, when inside the killer’s terror radius then the killer gets to see your aura

It needs a cooldown; it gives way too much information in a SWF.

Object of Obsession:
You see the aura of the killer when they are more than 40 meters away.
W-wait is Myers stalking that MEG!?
HEY I'M THE ONE YOUR DATING MYERS! I HAVE THE PERK ON, YOU CHEATING BASTARD!
The killer is forced to focus you while under the effects of Object of Obsession, failure to do so will result in spousal conflict, telephone restrictions, trust issues from your partner, daily curfews, never seeing your friends again, several hours of being chained in the basement...again.

So far I'm the only one who's made a rework of the perk. Anyone want to provide feedback on this change. Do you think it would be better or worse than the current Object of Obsession?

Well lets establish the problems with it firstly...
1) - Gives 3 SWF players information on the killer all game with none of the downsides of running the perks themselves.
2) Used constantly to t-bag and taunt the killer just to try and ruin the game for them.
In regards to point 1, the answer would be to stop it from being active at any point in the game. Maybe only for x seconds after an unhook or gen is completed etc something to take away the 24/7 aspect of the perk.
In regards to point 2 it needs a downside. Although the killer can see the survivors aura lets be honest this perk massively favours the survivor as they get a heads up on when to run to a loop. So an added downside would help.
What if it was alternating in some way? so at some point only the survivor can see the killers aura, and at some points only the killer can see the survivors aura?

i was thinking about that the other day, and ive come up witn an interesting idea.
what if the perk was only going to give away the killers position every couple of seconds?
(giving away the position =/= aura reading. its like the madness bubbles for doc)
that way the survivor would still know the general direction the killer is in, however they wouldnt be able to tell which killer it is, they wouldnt be able to spot them placing traps and they wouldnt be able to tell when the killer is coming straight at them / when he spottet them.
how it would work for the killer is up to debate. i wouldnt mind him also only getting the position reveal of the object.
thoughts?

That would be cool actually
Perhaps each tier reduces the amount of time you wait before another blip shows up?

Object of Obession's downside is that the survivor is revealed to the killer. If it weren't for SWFs the perk would be balanced. However, due to SWFs it's not a great perk. In my suggestion rather than try to "fix" the problem with SWFs I made it an attribute of the perk to show the killers location to all survivors (within the terror radius). This way the value of the perk is about the same if used by a SWF vs used solo. And I added an activation cost making it so that the perk can only work if you've met the activation cost. Now the cost that I chose was being within the terror radius of the killer for 1 minute. I feel that this protects stealth killers from the perk as it is difficult to get within the terror radius of a stealth killer while not in a chase. And vice versa against someone like The Oni, it would be a high risk but high reward for being within the terror radius.

I was thinking about the aesthetic of the perk, and then I had an idea. OoO should first of all make it more possible to be the obsession. If you are,you can see the killers aura each time you complete a gen, cleanse a totem, unhook and heal. If not, each time the obsession reveals the aura of the killer, you also see the killers aura and the obsession's aura

glad you like it :D
what would you say would be balanced for numbers?
i was thinking maybe 9/7/5 seconds?

Position reveals are done through sound notifications and there's already enough sound notification spam in this game. But I like your reasoning, just not your solution.

Object of Obsession is very risky to run - especially as a solo survivor.
2 -
Why do we want to change it? As a survivor there's a chance you're against an undetectable killer who can see you for the entire game but you can't see them. It's a risky perk even if they aren't stealth killers as they see you as well. I run it in SWF at times and we still win or lose as if I didn't run it
(and when I'm killer, it's easy to counter as you see them too)

I think if you could only use it while standing still it would be way better
