To All Red Rank Killers

How has the matchmaking been for you the past few weeks? We've seen the countless threads about Green rank killers being put against Red rank survivors, and I myself have been finding it difficult to rank up due to this, so I can't find out for myself. But I'd like to know how it's been for Red rank killers, have you been put against survivors with the same rank as yours? Or has it been a mixture of all different ranks?

Screenshots if you have them would be helpful.

I don't think I've had a single game against all survivors my rank. Like literally, not even 1 and I play almost all day every day.

Most matches are a mash of purple, green and grey ranks. All over the place.

My last match for example was a rank 5, 9, 15 and 18 survivor.

This is pretty much my same experience as a red rank survivor as well.

I think matchmaking now work like paired low rank survivor with 3 red-purple survs in solo+ any rank killer.

I had a match against 4 grey ranks. I was rank 8, but I still shouldn't be getting four rank 20's.

EDIT: Have in mind, I was a red rank killer up until the last rank reset, I have deranked so that I could learn the new Doctor and Spirit.

I was playing as one of my mains during the match. The game ended in about two minutes.

Wow, that's pretty bad...before you went down to 8, what kind of matches were you getting? The reason I'm asking is I watched Tofu's video about matchmaking/queue times, because people are on here are touting it as irrefutable gospel, but I can't realistically believe that all the green/yellow rank survivors are playing SWF with red rank friends. If his theory is true, then the majority of red rank killers should be getting rainbow lobbies nearly every match.

So far the responses I've gotten are all over the place though, so I'm not sure what to think. Hopefully some more people respond so we get a clearer picture.

i mostly face red rank survivors, unless its a SWF.

i also dont wait in the lobby for extended periodes of time, its pretty much instant queue for me...

I've been against Red rank back to back mostly all of the time. To this point I have just assumed it's because they can't find many killers in the pools to my rank.

I also que almost instantly. Lul makes me feel like I should walk away too till Dev's either destroy their game, or fix the obvious problems they are making.

Sometimes I was getting a match full of red ranks, other times I was getting a mix match of purple, green and yellow ranks, with the occasional grey ranks. I just assumed it was due to SWF.

Although some of the green and purple rank survivors I was going against were better then the majority of red rank survivors that I go against.

I always feel bad when I get genuine low ranks matched against me. As I always expect the survivors playing I'm against are going to high ranks. If I see a bad survivor, I just assume they are just boosted high ranked survivors. As I mainly play solo q when I play survivor, when I see a bad survivor I try to get them to depip to reduce the chances I'll get them as a random.

I always get a red rank survivor. I figure if there’s less than purple it was a SWF.

I have been getting red ranks and rank 5s every game as a rank 11 killer :’) real fun

If I had to guess, and attempting to ignore SWF bypassing match making. High rank Killers tend to get high rank Survivors more often than high rank Survivors getting high rank Killers.

The reason? It is far more easy to rank up as Survivor than as Killer. Making it so high rank Survivor lobbies need to draw from lower ranks in order to fill up games from there not being enough high rank Killers to go around.

I pretty much only see purple and red rank survivors as a red rank killer. Sometimes I will see a green or brown rank, but it is exclusively because of purple / red rank SWFs bringing them along.

I dont know. I play other games. Let It Die, Payday2 (while I wait for upgrades in Let It Die) and RPGs, if Im bored of FPS.

I heard devs force blurry screen now. If its true, then Im not coming back any soon. Probably, its the time to completely uninstall DBD.

Typically I get a full red rank game and sometimes a purple rank or two. Pretty average games.

I've personally been getting games from either side of the spectrum, no middle ground.

Either it's completely easy, or really really difficult. Meaning either potatoes or an actual SWF team with a really good runner.

Same here. It might vary from region and time of the day, probably.

I played 20 piggy games last week and took a screenshot of the tally screen after each one - I got a few red rank lobbies, but for the most part I versed purples and a few rainbows. Some of the matches were balanced, but for the most part I had the advantage, as it felt like I had a lot more experience than the people I was playing against.

It’s random for me. One game I’ll get some red rank survivors, the next will be green ranks, some times it’s even Mixed with red, and green. The worse one was all yellow

An earlier match. My matches range from this to some red and purples, to even browns and yellows when somebody is in a swf.

Chat was just for salty flavor, if you need the iodine in your diet.

My last match was rank 5 - 6, so not 'as' bad.

Congrats on the 4k, tryhard ;)

Wish I got more chats like that, mainly because it's always nice to grow a collection of salty post game chats.

That doesn't feel like a very positive collection, I'd prefer to steer away from other's people salt or trying to derive pleasure from it.

I've been having rainbow matchmaking and I get put against green ranks kinda often, they are not bad but it's weird how the mm is

I just find it funny some people take this game that seriously to get that mad at it.

I see it from time to time. People getting salty, normally it due to them dying or being the only one to die or wanting to blame someone else for their failures. Like i seen a Bill, try to get inside of a locker right in front of the killer. While bringing someone down to the basement. No head on, no ds. None of that. They ran out of the locker, after their buddy was hooked. They didn't even take the time to heal up before pulling off this plan. Than after getting caught and put on hook. It was only their second hook, they just give up and die. Yet stick around for the end game chat. Where they got around 1k blood points or less. The bill's plan to this day still confuses me. Like what the heck where they hoping for, just to be let go, after they made a massive error in judgement? Maybe they just hated Spirit that much. That and it like, the Bill could of gone onto another game. To get more blood points, yet the Bill wasted time and stuck around to be salty? The Bill just confused me. All their actions just confused me.

Yeah same over here. Lots of rainbow matchmaking or well, lucky charms as i like to call it.

Not a red killer, but I've been getting 2 Reds, a Purple and a Yellow in plenty of my games, and I'm at Green. I do better in those games too for some reason.

I returned to DbD to check out the new update. I was playing at rank 9 as killer and was paired up with full red rank teams for the 2 matches I played. on console jfi

When I play as the killer I usually always get 4 man swf red ranks groups. It's very rare that I get anything other than swf groups on this game. Sometimes, but rarely I might pull a few purples once in a while or even rarely greens.

As rank 1, I usually have 2-3 red ranks mixed with 1-2 purple ranks. They might be playing together or just deranked but it's quite consistant.

It also depends on the time I guess. I can find myself playing against purple / green ranks but it's a minority of my games. Overall, mostly red rank survivors :3

It's been the shining example of how little these devs Care. Making matches fair doesn't make them money, so they won't bother attempting until two more years have passed

In Xbox, as a killer it takes me 5 seconds to find game and always Vs red rank survivors. When I get different ranks , I played Vs SWF
