Test running a few games in red ranks without Ruin and I was being gen rushed in every single one.
I think I'm just gonna slowly stop playing killer for awhile it's too frustrating.
Map size and gen speed is something that needs to be looked at.
Chase 1 survivor into a good loop can cost a gen or 2 and leaving that survivor hurts more because now they can work on a gen for free and you have to go put pressure somewhere else and now and days survivors are so bold.
Idk I'm just frustrated man. Gens are going to go sooo fast now and this change honestly hurts the weaker killers
Killers like Clown and Leatherface need to be next in line for changes if anything.
I know I can play some top tier killers but it gets boring af using the same killers and I know survivors get tired of seeing the same killers.

If you replace Ruin with both Corrupt Intervention and Pop Goes the Weasel, it starts to come back around at the cost of an extra perk slot.

pretty much; insta queues for killers now; it doesn't even matter if you are solo, duo, trio, full squad, the queue time is the same all around pretty much :|

That makes me happy to hear that survivor queues are so long. Maybe if streamers stop playing survivor due to the wait times maybe they'll realize that they ######### up

go in with the purpose of merely killing 1 or 2 survivors, reduces your goals, reduces your stress.

This might be because I stopped using Ruin in my killer builds a while ago, but I decided to use old Ruin last night, as the update is coming today (i believe).
Last night was the most frustrating experience I felt as killer in a long time. Ruin just kept getting cleansed early so I was just playing with three perks for the majority of the game.
I was losing games that I felt that I deserved more from the game, as I felt I played well enough to possibly win the game. I was ending chases early, destroying a lot of pallets.
I was playing as Leatherface but he is one of the killers that I main. I normally use Pop goes the Weasel or Play with your food instead of Ruin.

Wouldn't this require tunneling? Because if you don't do very well, it's not easy to pick targets without focusing on them. In "normal" match if you get 1k, it's basically means you're 2-3 hooks away from 3-4k.

Man the skill cap for killer being able to make these calls compared to survivors just sitting on a gen getting skillchecks. Good to know only about 10 players deserve red killer ranks.

Just start doing slugging builds, proximity camping, end game builds. Playing dirty is the best way to win without ruin.

I'm an average killer green ranks and I'm fighting red ranks regularly. Its getting pretty obvious at even this point how survivor sided the game really is. I have definitely put much more time into survivor and the skill gap between the two is a bit too sizable. Unfortunately it makes playing the killer extremely discouraging for many of us.

Take some time to get better at the game.

I mean if it REALLY goes badly you can just camp the 1 person you get, but in general no, I would not say it requires tunneling.
Just hook and move on, it can be a fun and hectic match and if you dont set your goals that high its less stressfull.

If you're complaining about how tough it is in high ranks, then you don't deserve to be in high ranks. I haven't used ruin since PGTW appeared in the shrine and I have absolutely no problem with gen rush, or whatever other misery the forum whinge bags complain about when it comes to survivors.

A lot of people Do deserve red ranks, even if they lose because of No Ruin. Killers, like clown, with no map pressure can't do anything about the gens on the other side of the map if he's getting Ran on a God Loop or a chain of hard ones.
It's not the Killers Fault the gens are easy to do, and now even Easier without Ruin, and that maps are Horridly balanced/designed, as well as all the survivors with nothing stopping them from running all the Second Chance perks available (DS, Unbreakable, Any Exhaustion Perk, etc.)
And if you say "Then adjust your build to tackle with pressure" or something, then what's the point in playing if you can't play Your way? Why do we Have to run certain perks or adopt specific playstyles just for a Chance at winning? (Which is Subjective, but to Most people, it's a 4K)

Can't say I agree. I don't think Corrupt is a very good slow-down perk unless you are a Killer that needs time to set up Traps.

Yes, they are on console. Last night it took me 45 minutes to find a match solo. About a year ago on ps4, with a 4 man group it would literally take ONE HOUR to an HOUR AND A HALF to find a match. They fixed it no so long ago, and it was running okay for a while. Now it seems like it's heading down that road again.

It's not that people can't win without old Ruin. It's that it requires a playstyle that survivors will cry about like crazy.

First of all i want to say english is not my native language so sorry for any mistakes.I was playing mostly killer,lets say 60-40%,spend 2,5k hours in this game,struggling with pathethic fps(console version) i got 5,5 kills but after devs announce to nerf ruin i just switch to survivor and now im play around 80-20 as a survivor.Im kinda understanding why devs change the ruin-it could be frustrating for the new players but it was just not the best time to do that because the game is poorly balanced on red ranks.Personally i hate ruin on both side and as a killer you lost 1 slot for perk after 1-3 minutes but this 1-3 minutes is really needed and crucial for killers thats why 80% peoples on red ranks was using this perk.Now its still possible to play as a killer but theres just no place for playing nice and have good round for both side,now killers have to sweat a lot to manage 2-4k while playing as survivor is chill and easy.I just wonder what could help this game? And i have some small idea.Give easy second objective on the begining to survivor that take 1-2 minutes to complete,lets say before fixing main gens they need to fix 5 "small gens" that each of this gens take lets say around 10-15 second to finish,survivor of course going to see the aura of this "small gens".Like i said this objective have to be easy and fast to make plus add some cool animation of fixing it and there you go-it could work.Of course it doesnt have to be exacly like i said but something that keep busy survivors in the begining of the match and doesnt change core of the game.

Killers cry just as much and seem to forget the nerfs that survivors had to deal with.
The entire survivor vs killers dynamic OUTSIDE of the game is the fault of both sides and pretty annoying at this point.

Either a secondary task or shrinking map sizes would probably work. Neither seem to be an idea that's being looked at despite how often both are discussed. They could be looking into it and just be staying silent for now though. They need to do something, survivor is getting boring with only gens and totems and some killers, selfishly the ones I play, aren't good at crossing bigger maps.

When was the last serious survivor nerf, the DS rework last year that made it arguably stronger or the bug fix on balanced landing

I know how to adapt and use bunk perks anyway so I really don't pay attention to nerfs. Stronger killers means my skills get better. Different styles of play increase my ability to counter tactics.
The point remains that killer mains and survivor mains whine in equal amounts. Its the ebb and flow of things.

Not when I play survivor. I'm getting the fastest matches I've had in a long time. Maybe it's a PS4 things. Same goes for Killer. Maybe after the "new" wears off it'll slow down. We'll see. But right now it's golden.

Just from purely looking at the statistics you should realize that this statement is bs. Gens get done in 80 seconds and you got no pressure at the start of the game. Combine this with any low mobility killer on any map other than Hawkins or The Game (maybe Lerys) and you practically lost already. A “decent” survivor would be able to keep a killer busy for around a minute, a bit more or less but this isn’t even an extreme amount of time; just average. Unless you can explain to me the secret recipe to pressure all 4 survivors at once and down them in time, the killer is completely depending on how much the survivors are willing to hold m1.
