so, the new teaser shows us a samurai (but can be a demon, too) who speaks in japanese to a woman. That woman CANNOT be Kuchisake onna because as the legend tells, her mouth was cutted from a ear to the other ear BUT, in the teaser, when the screen is black, we can hear three stabs with the katana (2 for taking out the katana out of the body) and a window smashed, probably because the victim or she escaped. So, in the end, the killer would be a male one and the survivor would be a female one

    there are so many hints already

    There is a scroll saying Rise from the Dead, did the Samurai dies? nope, the woman most likely or suicide and becomes a vengeful spirit

    Theres a mask, which the woman uses to hide her face, note don't confuse this with a surgical mask, we are not talking about the modern version

    The devs could have put their own twist on it to fit into the entity world. It wouldn’t be original of them to copy the full version of Kuchisake Onna. And after all it is an urban legend so why not put your own spin on it.

    My bet is that she will be the killer and will appear horribly mutilated.

    that doesn't make sense. I read that she covers her face with a CLOTH MASK, A FAN (?) or A SCARF. I'm pretty sure that mask is not a cloth mask nor a fan (?).

    Geisha on Identity V, is pretty much the same and based on the same thing, for Edo's period its perfectly acceptable, she also uses a mask on some manga which i have read some time ago

    the cloth thing is from the Modern version

    There are many tales of revenge in Japanese lore. The evidence is high, I will admit...but it may end up being a "generic" Evil spirit/demon woman who wants revenge, and after acquiring/not acquiring....continues seeking revenge to the ends of the earth....unable to find peace.(She forgot to forgive herself.)

    My "Hell Girl" senses are tingling.

    so are you saying that it could be The Modern Version? (surgical mask) Or The Edo One?

    the reason i say so is this.. first off.. the mask that we see. It has 3 eyes. Oni was known to have up to 3 eyes. The woman in the clip seems to be naked, or atleast barefoot. She wouldnt be able to make those Sounds from the teaser trailer.. and finally.. the ‘samurai’ might be a Ninja, i Think. He’s wearing completely Black clothing
