What do you think is a Core issue with DBD? (Both Sides)
From Killers or Survivors prospective, feel free to voice what you think is a core issue in DBD. Of course, be civil and respectful or just don’t say anything at all.
As a Survivor Main I can say that having one objective is kind of a core issue for me. I get bored of sitting in place and holding L1 for over 60 seconds.

As a mostly killer player, the early game and toolboxes.
There's nothing more annoying than getting 2 gems popped after the first down, so you are forced to run CI or play a killer with good mobility.
You also feel robbed when you didn't play bad but you just didn't have enough time because they brought toolboxes and every Gen took only 50 seconds, only counterplay there is bring a mori or get some lucky slugs.

I agree with you as survivor

Scrap the entire playerbase and start over. Toxic af.

To me the biggest issue has always been the new player experience
To the Dev's credit, they somewhat addressed my biggest complaint by allowing new characters to immediately slot their teachibles. And they went a step in the right direction by making the slots unlock sooner. But again, I think they still need to take that extra step and just unlock all slots from level 1, and give all survivors Kindred at level 1, and all killers Unrelenting at level 1. This lets a brand new player out the gate walk into the game immediately with 4 perks and be on more even footing with everybody else.
Once that's done, there needs to be a way to make it more obvious to brand new newbies killers that camping is bad for them and they need to seek out new targets. They've taken steps in teaching survivors that they need to do safer saves, but more needs to be done (Frankly, I'd reverse the unhook and safe rescue scoring event totals, or split them in half)

Give the survivors more objectives to complete throughout a trial. For almost 4 years it has been fix 5 gens win the game. Trials are getting to be 5 minutes of holding one button like you said and then another couple seconds to open a door. If they want a more intrested fanbase then they need to update the game In a major way. Maybe a new game mode? I have honestly been fond of an idea i saw that plays out like a Black ops zombie Easter egg with random puzzles to escape. It has last year elements where if you die you can be found alive in a locker that is locked from the outside (max of 3 restrictions per trial) it would just be fun

the focus of the game being escaping/4k and the "win state". i don't know how they'd do it but some kind of refocusing the scope of the game so that it's more about the meat of the game (chases/stalking) would really help. because as it stands with such static and difficult win conditions the game revolves around each side doing everything in their power to make the game as unfun and frustrating as possible for the other side. it's not like other games where it's just about winning, it's the equivalent of the game being like Counter Strike and each team has infinite flash nades and the goal is to flash the enemy team the most.
i just feel like 4 escapes/4k should be more like a Pentakill in League or something, a thing that can happen occasionally when everything is aligned right but isn't the actual focus of the game.

Map design.
Size and many loops being too strong.

That locker idea sounds fun. But I agree, maybe adding little mini game modes that don’t always depend on Surviving/Getting a 4K.

It just needs a rotation. I dont want this many posts in the forums talking about "I'm leaving game isnt fun anymore" that stuff breaks my heart

Generators are boring to repair for long periods of time. More engaging activities might be a nice change of pace.
Moris, Instadowns, Keys, and Toolboxes all need toned down or reworked. I have so many Ebony Mori's for being pink rarity and usually only one or two green ones...
Some maps feel too big for some killers, other maps are too small/open for other Killers. (Hillbilly on Rotten Fields is annoying. Meanwhile Legion in Red Forest is painful.)
Gates can spawn way too close together. Some Killers can patrol two gates a great distance from each other, the gates spawning close basically condemns 1-2 Survivors situations.
Spamming space bar is obnoxious for struggle phase. Let me auto struggle and hit some key to "give up hope."
Certain Killers need reworked like Legion and Clown. Both could be SOO much more, but they have rather tacked on and flat abilities. Clown having different mixtures for different effects could be fun. Legion being made more about being fast and agile than Deep Wounds would be a very good direction to head.
Camping, Looping, and Tunneling even if a strategy kills a lot of enjoyment in the game, and these aspects of the game feed into each other.

Bugs.
Trapper, the game mascot, needs a minor buff to his traps. I’d like it if his base carry amount was 3 and that he’d start with carrying 2.
All old maps need to be redone.
The game stagnates due to the fact there is only one mode. We need a new mode to breath life into DbD. Unfortunately, it’ll never happen since it will kill the main modes matchmaking.

The very unbalanced maps, the broken matchmaker/ranking system (Not just the bug, but their entire system in place is fubared), general lack of addressing all the problems making killer so stressful/frustrating to play, toolboxes boosting repair speed, Mori/Keys, so many lobby/loading screen bugs, the huge wait times....there is a lot tbh....

I doubt it would kill anything if cross platform were introduced.

Agreed. That is at the top of my wishlist.

That’s a big IF. I don’t see it happening anytime soon. Especially with all the bugs and poor optimization that console has, its going to be a good long while.
