The kobe thing....
Did an influencer hype this up? Whats up with people trying to 4% in your face?
Not only am I leaving my gen to get to you (even if its on the other side of the map) but it also cancels my We'll make it, borrowed time and the unhook bloodpoints and pip points. Can it stop? Because I always turn around and walk away but it also ruins my own game.

If they have enough time to attempt a kobe without hitting struggle before you save them, some players will do it for the swag factor and because it rewards survival points when successful, However, it's indeed subpar and disrespectful to do when you're not playing with friends, because it cheats the rescuer out of the things you mentioned.

Tell us about the Azerbaijanis

True, that's very anoying. I'm also starting to ignore them on the hook when they do that. Very unsportsman like in my opinion.

Well tbf they dont know what you are carrying.
Always pisses me off when I go for an unhook, carrying We'll Make It, and some other survivor races me to it, wins and does not even have that perk, just greedy for the points...
But again, we dont know of eachother what everyone is running.
(heck that might be a thing worth changing to bring SWF and solo closer, show in the lobby what everyone has?)
Anywho, Kobe gives you points and its only a 4% chance, if you are about to go into 2nd stage you might as well try it.
And just because you went for the unhook does not mean they wanted you to unhook. Honestly I get what you are saying but its just not all about you if you get me.

I guess its simple:
First: Points. 1500 points for you for unhooking yourself.
Second: There is an Achievement for this.
But yeah, I hate it as well. I dont heal people who kobe in my face and I am also thinking about just letting them on the Hook when they are trying, but this would only hurt my chances to escape. Also I am way too nice for that.

I do it cause its really funny when someone tries to farm me

@ZoneDymo , we get your point, but for what I understood of the OP, he's just talking specifficaly when they do it in your face, like, I'll wait for you to stop what you're doing, move close to me and then try it when you're here.
Doing it when knowing you'll get into second fase or if you're running Deliverance, or even if you immediatly try once the killer leaves the area is no reason to complaint about, but doing it in your face feels like they're moking. We know they're not, they are just trying their luck but is very unfair for someone that tried to go save them, stopping what they were doing and get nothing for it except maybe a heal.
If it happens every now and then I don't even notice it, but when it happens game after game, it feels bad.

Right now, a lot of people are doing it not because they want to escape, but because they've finished their challenge and they want to die and move onto the next match as soon as possible.

To be honest, I haven't seen that much since the weekend. But this weekend it was a bit abusive.
PS: I didn't know people had a name for it. Does KOBE stands for something like, are it initials for some frase or something?

If someone does it to me I let them go into second stage. I need some salt for my chips from idiot greedy survivors.

I've seen a lot of it playing killer today. People keep coming up to me trying to get me to sacrifice them. I had one person let themselves die to a RBT because I refused to hook them.
And actually... I don't know where the term "kobe" comes from. It's not an acronym - I just did a quick Google, and apparently it's named after basketball player Kobe Bryant, because the self-unhook animation looks, or used to look, like him doing a jump shot (he kind of swings his legs out in front of him when he does it). The more you know.

Kobe is something that, well I, got from the german youtuber "Tithi"
They relate it like that old meme where you randomly yell "KOBE" when throwing something

If I see someone attempt to do this crap to me, I still unhook them, but on their struggle hook they better hope someone else comes. I think I'll start waiting until their struggle hook, and then get them, that'll teach em

I run BT and we'll make it together often so this is another reason I hate solo Q. They often don't even have DS and get hooked again within a minute smh.

If people try kobe when im coming to save i just leave them hooked and go back to my gen.

I remember COWS doing a video not too long ago related to that so maybe it influenced some survivors.

No, Kobe is his actual name.
You might have heard it wrong in the past - searching returns nothing for a famous basketball player named Koby O'Brian.

It's 4% if they dont risk going into second stage people generally will try it out and see of they get lucky when you get there. It's really not that big of a deal your there you may as well heal them up and get the emblem/BP because otherwise you wasted your time
It ruins your game for people attempting to get lucky and free themselves? I'm sorry that's a little petty.

It feels so good to get that 4%, though. Like, I know it's just RNG, but I feel on top of the world when I get lucky like that. I still usually die, but it feels like I had more fun.

It’s a disrespectful thing. Lots of unhappy people with no social skills play dbd. Just look around this forum, they’re easy to spot.

Yeah, let’s make SWF and Survivors in general that much stronger by allowing complete build coordination in pre-game lobbies.
You all will never comprehend the more you make the game miserable for killers the less this game is likely to continue on.

Lol. I always try for a kobe before being unhooked and I had literally no idea that it was disrespectful. If someone kobes when I'm about to unhook him, I just t-bag and heal him.
Maybe you are taking this casual game too serious?
