I only lobby dodge if I see a Laurie, because most likely it’s object and ds and a swf and that’s not fun. Or if I see a key I’m out.

Oh poor guy 😥 2 toolboxes is just to much for me. How dare I have to play better.... and y’all wanna complain about survivors DCing but killers dodging is ok? 😂

A true sign of maturity, right here. Empathic to the distress of others and mature enough to consider a differing opinion without resorting to insults or mockery.

Truly, this is an example of what game balance discussions should look like.

Lobby dodging doesn't bother me since dedicated servers, it takes ages to get a lobby but if one dodges there's a replacement killer quickly. More annoying is matches getting cancelled because someone couldn't resist bringing an ormond offering, despite knowing the queue times.

4 toolboxes is the only time il dodge a lobby because I know the game is going to end in 4 minutes with me getting tagged and dropping and only getting 5,000 bloodpoints

Matches with excessive items aren’t worth playing. Either the survivors gen rush and the game is over before it starts, or I manage to down them and the game is still over fast. Toolboxes and keys aren’t fun for either side, so i’d rather avoid them.

I only dodge to escape bad ping with survivors otherwise I attempt to contort my killer of choice to who has franklins if they have 3-4 toolboxes.

I’m still going to lobby dodge if it’s a team full of claudettes with toolboxes

Never dodged lobbys but now I wonder why? I always take Franklins when there are lots of toolboxes, never even thought of just leaving. Thanks! 😃

    Guys, don't dodge.

Instead, just swap to Wraith and just, ah, you know...don't try very hard.

The fault of lobby dodging is not killer fault its BHVR fault. SwF long ago should be adressed by buffing killers according it

The lobbies I dodge are ones with 3 to 4x identical toon, it’s all assumption but my experience tells me they are a really toxic group. I’ve never had the all dressed alike meme group for a laugh. I’m sure it exists but not in my experience. The second is people with toxic abusive names, now it doesn’t offend me but often again telegraphs bad attitude players. Why spend my time with people like that when I can skip out and get a new game with better people.

I put off buying dbd for so long because I hate online gaming with strangers. It’s the dumpster fire of human interaction win or lose.

with that in mind I can exercise my ability to assess whether I think it’s a worthwhile game or not. I might be wrong but I’ll stand by my decision to play or to dodge. It has nothing to do with ease of winning but more the quality of play.

There are some red flags in this game that a number of folk have cited as dodge reasons which through their online experience are legitimate.

A lobby dodge is far less disruptive than a killer dc.

Why do you care? Thanks to Dedicated Servers, all a lobby-dodging killer means is they need to wait for a new killer

Survivor wait times are much shorter than killers, why should survivors care?

i dodge and forever will dodge when i see a 4 man, i play teh game to have fun not to stress myself. i will forever dodge if a see Key, etc. is what it is and if u insta switch in the last second i will close the game, guess what search for a new match again, wait 10/15 minutes again me as killer i dont have to wait more than 20 seconds anyway in order to get a match (now for whatever reason is taking a lot but should get fixed soon) sme goes if i see haddonfiled offering, etc. i dont like to play against BS. is what it is-

Bah, sucks for you I guess. We have to deal with SWFs on a regular basis but no one seems to think that is an issue.

2 of the guys in the lobby had 1000 playtime hours and im still rank 19 on killer. i wouldnt have a tap of fun, and theyd teabag me at the exit gate. i just want to go against average players, like rank 9 or 10. if only bhvr made it so you get matched up with people who are around your rank.

If you bring 2 keys, I am dodging. Don't care. It's my game and I will do exactly what I want as long as it allows me to do so without punishment. I Hate the damn key/hatch mechanic and how it makes survivors play this game. Absolutely no fun for me. 4 toolboxes? Yea, sure I may play it. Or I may dodge, depends on how I feel.

And anyways, it's about MY fun at the end of the day.

Honestly, ranking up as a Killer on this game is stressful enough when you take into account SWFs, predominantly survivor-sided maps, strong survivor perks, and the fact that anything less than a 2K with loads of hooks is almost guaranteed depip.

For this reason I will always lobby dodge keys, as I'm not also adding the requirement to find and guard the hatch as well as control 4 survivors and 8 generators. I value my sanity, thanks!

Edit: the true problem here is me caring about ranking up, but I'm a sucker for that so go through periods of caring and not caring about rank

The long delay for Killers isn't due to people dodging. It is due to there being a disparity in the healthy ratio of Killers to Survivors in your region. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now; it started after last month's update and they have been creeping up ever since.

Since you are a rank 1 killer, no why would you lobby dodge? However, if you’re rank 17 I think there are plenty of justifiable reasons to lobby dodge if it’s obvious that you’re going to be severely outclassed.

  • Exerath1992
    Exerath1992 Member Posts: 1,035

I never dodge, but I can't blame a killer for dodging a lobby of 4 blendettes with a key or 4 toolboxes (probably with new parts). That is scary and you can't be mad if someone knows they're outmatched

  • Moundshroud
    Moundshroud Member Posts: 4,458

Lobby Dodging could fixed instantly simply by not allowing any Player a peek at the other pre-game. What is more, there shouldn't be any reveal of what Offerings have been made either. Nobody needs a sneak peek at anything. They can find out in the game. I want to stress again, however, that the long ques have nothing to do with dodging and everything to do with there not being the required ratio of Killers to Survivors currently.

lol, no, if i see keys on the looby i am skipping it, just cause i am not gonna deal with this level of bs that shouldnt be in the game in the first place, hatch is already bs enough, do have fun on those waiting lines tho

Keys? Big deal. Toolboxes? Whoop de doo. Med kits? Whatever. Flashlights? More than one? Watch out: troll alert!

  • Unifall
    Unifall Member Posts: 747

If I see a key or multiple flashlights I'm dodging the lobby. If I suspect that their a swf i dodge bro. And I don't want to hear "bring franklins" I shouldnt have to bring a perk to counter items. I'm not here to amuse the survivors. I want to casually play the game not stress out over it.

Typically, I only "dodge" if my ping spikes outta nowhere to see if I can figure out why. If I lose, I don't really give a #########.

I think you’ll find that many killers aren’t dodging, they’re simply not bothering to log on during those peak periods. I’d rather play survivor, despite the long queue times.

Sometimes it’s not a case of not knowing how to deal with strong survivors, simply that there’s no fun to be had whether a win or loss is achieved. Nobody logs on to play a video game for a miserable and stressful experience. There needs to be SOME fun.

  • EvanSnowWolf

I have no problem with toolboxes. Using toolboxes to fight back against perks like Hex: Ruin is totally fair in my book.

Keys are not. Screw your keys. Keys are a cop-out. It's like DCing, but getting paid for it. You should not be able to win the game for yourself because you found the hatch early and pressed a single button.

If I see 2 or more Keys in a lobby, I'm out. And if you try that last second Key swap right before the timer goes red I will tunnel you into Oblivion.

  • CountVampyr
    CountVampyr Member Posts: 1,050

Most keys go unused and/or wasted, and are chosen at the expense of more useful items for the rest of the game. Honestly I don’t understand why you killers are so afraid of them. They’re part of the game and have been for a long time so it’s about time to get over it. If you see someone with a key then prioritize them over others if they bother you so much. If a survivor brings a key into the game and manages to live long enough to use it then they’re exhibiting a lot more skill then you’re giving them credit for.

  • EvanSnowWolf
    EvanSnowWolf Member Posts: 1,583

We are not afraid of them. We are sick of them. It boggles my mind that Survivors will cry ENDLESSLY about No One Escapes Death, shouting "tHeY aRe kIlLs yOu dIdN't eArN!11!" and then turn around and defend Keys, even going so far as to hypocritically say "The devs put them in the game, deal with it".

Entered a lobby yesterday that I had to dodge because everyone was a P3 Feng with toolboxes. I really don't care how long they have to wait, I refuse to go near groups like that.

And for the record, I don't dodge Lobbies unless I see someone in it that is already on my Black List. You get on my list by using hacks or lag spikes. You can get on it by being someone who disconnects (not suicide on the hook) in a game with me when it is clearly a rage quit or to help some member of your SWF get the hatch. And finally, if I see people who were particularly vile in end game chatter with me, i.e. threats, misogyny, hate speech, and so on, I might take a pass. It is a tedious process to report someone, and I do it every time. Someone I know behaves like a pain in the butt doesn't deserve my time, nor do I want to have to waste it on reporting them again and again.

I'm happy to report that my Black List is rather reasonable in size. I run into far more nice, honest Players than bad. But these are the reasons I will take a pass on a particular group. If you have a scummy person among your ranks as a SWF, I suggest dumping them. There are a quite a few of us that make lists, and quite a few of us share them on the back end.

No, we will dodge if we see a clicky 4 man swf who will just t-bag and pallet spam the whole game. Excuse us for wanting to have fun.
